Thread regarding DXC Technology layoffs

This is all about age discrimination

I'm 26 and I believe I was laid off due to age discrimination. Not of my age group though. I think I was specifically laid off to pad the numbers so it seems like there was no age discrimination. I've been here for barely two years. My pay was probably near the bottom of the list. I won't even mention benefits. If I was a bad worker, I'd understand. But there were several people who were there longer than I by several years and who did a much worse job but are still employed.

I really wish somebody would take them to court for this. How hard can it be to prove something this obvious?

"Corrupt as DXC management is, they do not lay off people who provide any semblance of value."

Wow..... That is not true at all! One of the best, hardest workers we had on my account was laid off yet d—beats were allowed to stay around. Our management (local) had NO SAY in who got the axe.

You got laid off strictly because you are useless. Corrupt as DXC management is, they do not lay off people who provide any semblance of value. You probably got hired to fulfill a demographic quota; then dumped as soon as the auditors were satisfied

Be sly about your not tendering offers.....get the vendor to jump and jump and jump again. Set unrealistic goals. Wait for them to waste resources trying and late in the game shift the timeline. Then better than good it’s great have them reverse auction fight against all other vendors to get them to squeeze out all the margin.

Consider it a blessing in disguise. You just dodged a bullet to your career.

Come off it, it's about k–ling as much cost as possible, it just so happens that people of a certain age tend to take home more money than the grads

In order of sequence, you were ditched because you were

  • - Not liked
  • - Easiest to get rid without affecting the team
  • - Cost more than others

Its usually the first one

Many lay-offs are based on cost. It’s cheaper to ditch a recent hire than someone with long service. I’ve seen this too, I’m going because I have only been there 18 months. My colleagues with many years are retained because it costs more to get rid of them.

However, I’ll be glad to go. DXC is by far the worst company I’ve ever worked for. Those who stay are already anticipating the next round of redundancies.

I’m quite senior, so may actively target some DXC customers as my next employer. Wonder who I won’t invite to tender for future contracts........
