Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

MPLS Hit Hard

Honeywell MPLS. after COVID and civil unrest, is also getting slammed. The site is hosed. This seems very short sighted, and I am pretty angry right now.

I'm not sure which is worse: getting laid off, or being left behind to try to navigate the s-storm tgat this will cause.

What really hurts is MPLS AME was down about 40% YoY due to the last layoff and not back filling normal turnover. This 50% cut really is just knocking MPLS down to 30% from last year.

Stinson or as I used to call it "stinkhole". I worked there 5 years and could get out fast enough. Management there was so stifling that no wonder no new ideas were ever brought forward. It was a horrible environment all the way up and down the ladder. Lots of the engineers transferred to coon rapids and now they corrupted that place so bad they they are closing coon rapids. Start over with fresh minds and fresh management.

Orlean,
Meeting notices were sent out this afternoon for those getting RIFed.
So much knowledge will be gone after this is done, feel bad for those left behind. Many holes where the one person who knew how X piece of equipment worked, or how X process worked, that they will be starting from scratch on many things.

Sunset the gyros?
What do you suppose the penalty is for reneging on the TGP contract?

Supposedly Aero is choosing the names. No word as to what the selection criteria are; there are no clear patterns. Someone told me there will likely be callbacks. This feels lile literal madness, and I can't believe that this is the best cost cutting that a "forward thinking," "data driven," "world class" company could come up with.

Supposdely Darius wants to get out of all manufacturing and just be a software company, so maybe they plan to sell AEOC or sunset gyros, IDK. With what they're doing now, it would probably be as difficult to rebuild as it would be to just sell/relocate HON MPLS.

Well when they take production support engineer ring and slaughter off 90% of them. With 3/4 of their day being floor support, I’m glad I’m not gonna be around to see that mess.
