Executive Management at Boeing have no idea how many 1st line,2nd line and Directors that are not producing and barely do anything. To many layers of Management. I had one Manager that sat most of his day and stared at Org. charts and left early and complained a lot. The Executive Management are so far removed from the lower levels that they are unaware of the Managers that don't do much even for their people. Some Managers wouldn't even complete the employee evaluations on time. Didn't care about the people and the company. Also, there would be a threatening environment to work in by the Manager and nobody cared. There are many Managers that are wonderful and do work very hard but numerous Managers that don't do much and earn huge money. The Company would save so much money and lean out if they did some house cleaning of Management. Dollars saved would help with other shortages in the company.

Time to layoff some Management that make the big $$$ and don't do much. Keep the Managers that work hard and smart and are able to motivate their employees. The Management also needs to step up and layoff workers who come in late, leave early and play on their phones and the internet. So many employees work hard but there are a lot of employees that do more visiting the lunch room and using the company time for personal activities on the phone,computer, or run their own business. Company can't afford that behavior.
It's sad that the Company Executives are so far removed from seeing the truth about to many layers of Management. Some 1st line,2nd line and Directors work hard and smart and numerous low level Managers barely do anything. Think of the money saved if the ones that come in late and leave early and do nothing for their employees are laid off. The company could really lean out and save some money for things that matter. Other companies are better at dumping the waste. Yes there are also some groups that have 4 people doing a job and they only need 2 to be successful. So many times I have seen people spend a lot of the day playing on their phones the internet doing personal business etc. Great pay for doing not much. It's time for the company to get rid of wasteful Management and employees that care. Let's keep employees that produce!
It's called "Empire Building" I think. Hire only the lesser people that wont challenge the hierarchy, so the story goes.
many of the employees are also incompetent, and do nothing. It is not just the management, specially those that have been in company for a long time.
