Thread regarding DXC Technology layoffs

Terminated 2 weeks before end of 2 weeks of furlough with 2 weeks of severance after 7 years employment

Hired by HP. Moved to HPE. Moved to DXC. Got the furlough notice - no pay for 2 months from my manager. 2 weeks before the end of furlough my manager told me I was getting laid off with 4 weeks of severance. The paperwork I was asked to sign said I was getting 2 weeks of severance. So f— you DXC.

WFR and other methods of reducing headcount are the only way these companies manage to show a profit, they rarely build any value. The management are on the merry go round of jobs for fat cheques and large payoffs .... IT has been like this for decades now.

And this stripping of resource and skills was already condemned by analysts and caused a massive drop in share price....yet it continues.

Just to be clear for any shareholders reading this, this isn't spare capacity sat around being idle, this is highly skilled customer funded roles executing multi million dollar contracts. What do you imagine the customers think about that? What will it do to repeat business.

This is what is going on.

To CEqW - to be fair this WFR and removal of invaluable experienced technical people has not just happened recently - this has always been the case previously by CSC and then followed through by DXC under disastrous leadership of Laurie and now it seems Salvo.

Nothing will change until bits are sold off and finally a fire sale in the end.

This whole WFR programme has been utterly shocking. The absolute disregard and contempt for employees has been disgusting. We're not talking about low-skilled drones here, we're talking about some fantastically-experienced people, thrown overboard to artificially inflate the profit & loss account and temporarily stimulate share prices. Yeah that's sensible, sack the people who actually generate the revenue and act surprised when you can't deliver and customers avoid you like the plague.

This is true for any company but more so for DXC: https://lifehacker.com/the-company-you-work-for-is-not-your-friend-1692113529
