Thread regarding Macy's Inc. layoffs

Part Time Employee laid off

What are they saving.....I did not have insurance thru Macy's....no other benefits....had decent sales on the top half the store....I think in the stores the layoffs happened through popularity contest or least imy store.

With 8 hour opening, for now they be only utilizing full time associates for coverage? Seasonal is always an opportunity; this is where “the rubber meets the road.” You can always say no if called and offered minimum wage. Part time best opportunities are currently at grocery stores. Everyone needs food, and they are paying higher wages because same reasoning.

I was speculating to someone today that my on-call position could be deleted for "Optics." Macy's plays deep games with its stock fluctuations, and 25K of store positions laid off will definitely have an impact, even if many of the lay-offs are on-call with no benefits. We've seen it happen after the Christmas season, where categories of workers are laid off and brought back months later at a lower wage. All Optics.

I was on-call and they still laid me off. It makes no sense to get rid of the people who hardly cost the company anything.
