Knowing that you will Possibly be laid off doesn’t help morale. How much do your metrics even matter at this point? If they don’t lay you off now they will soon enough. For those in the layoff you get to participate in skill assessments. Assessing things like critical thinking? Retraining too, oh boy.. I can’t imagine there are any New skills to find a new job during covid. 75% reduction in real estate? Best bet is to take a stress induced disability till it blows over. The workers - all of us - are at our wits end with this. As a result the quality of work they’re getting is not good. The longer it goes the worse it will be. It was extremely cruel to make this announcement and leave us all terrified for weeks. Shipping jobs to India makes customers angry. I’ve seen it many times, the customers scream and run. So effectively Tom Wilson you have demotivated employees, and you are ignoring customers needs, this can’t end well. As usual his golden parachute is already secure. My plan B is already in motion.

heartless b–tards. they could have delayed this until the economy settled down, now they are tossing thousands out the door with very little hope of finding a job.

They are just seeming to be winging this RIF day to day. Hour by hour.......they will get what they want ultimately but at what cost.....think of the lives and careers and people ruined and at the worst of times....hope the big boys enjoy the wads of hundreds.........they will get paid. We likely won’t. Or very much.
It would be a nice gesture to offer VTO’s and reduce force that way. Not sure why they are not doing that. That would be a very kind way of getting closer to their RIF goals.

What is really stinks- the severance package is paid all at once and will kick you in a higher tax bracket.

It’s terrible that they’re pulling another mass lay-off but it’s better that they’ve provided employees with some advance notice. The job market’s not looking great right now so there’s no telling if the affected will be able to find other sources of income. With how high profits have been it’s hopeful that Tom, Glen and the others will have a heart and offer a better severance package than usual to help eliminated employees and their families survive through the hard times we’re going through. A few thousand dollars might not seem like much to those guys but to normal employees it could be huge. It would be the least they could do for loyal employees who’ve given so much to the company.
Throwing us out the door with families, mortgages and bills during an all time high in unemployment is heartless. Welcome to corporate greed. Whatever happened to keeping jobs in America ? Outsourcing jobs to India and Northern Ireland instead of keeping them here ? Seems like every couple years there’s layoffs here.
Hopefully they'll provide some information in the coming days. The Jacksonville MCO has a virtual meeting set up for Thursday afternoon that includes top management in the Florida region.
