I totally agree, and fully support her in this. Companies should not be allowed to write in wavers on illegal activity on leaving paperwork. Also, for anything to change in the industry there needs to be a way for these issues to be reported safely without repercussion to the victim reporting it. And people wonder why they struggle to get women into management.

So you guys lost job and now are very happy you former employer get lawsuit, did you have the same feelings when you got hired by Schlumberger ?

No, I am not Schlumberger employee nor HR, in fact I got laid off in 2016 and now I have much better job than ever, higher pay and I do what I love. I am here in life because Schlumberger helped me and because I have interest in Schlumberger. So, you can call me names and offourse I understand why you have such a feelings.

That women gets paid or not it doesn't bring any benefits to you, perhaps joy of fulfillment of some revenge.

Use of the ethics hotline at SLB has mixed results. IMO, it really does depend on how HR manages the complaint. I have witnessed complaints being filed which were baseless and the accused was kangarood courted out of the company and the accuser was protected under the law despite the obvious false claim. Likewise, I have seen compaints that were real and warranted dismissal, but the accused had a rabbi and was protected.

From my perspective (former office employee), this may be isolated to certain field positions. The company constantly hammers training for this sort of thing. In my circle, this would not be tolerated at any level. The accused would be out the door quickly... most likely guilty until proven innocent.

Are any of the names included in the lawsuit still with big blue or they have been fired?

Are there any dates set for the case to proceed or settle?

Any new certification on s-xual harassment training?

No one pays money for few words and oil well trash talk; Her case will be settled with few 1000s,if she tries very hard.
Considering this will be recorded on her background check and all over the news, this is a big loss and carrier s–c-de.
While ago someone did this in Indonesia, it didn't have a good ending for her.

I believe the harassment s-xual, age and the favoritism are by far the worst I have ever seen. There are people that are related to others - and have a job(management) just because of that reason, they are not qualified for the position. Upper management looks the other way on issues that need to be addressed. If you call the ethics hot line, you will get wrote up. I am hoping more folks come forward with abuse claims at the hands of this unprofessional management team they have in place. Clean the SWAMP - get rid of the management that is related to someone else before they ruin this company. This person that filed this lawsuit has been calling it to managements attention for 3 years, she gets wrote up and fired, just as I said, because she called it to someone attention. There are SERIOUS problems with ALL OF MANAGEMENT. DRAIN THE SWAMP or closed the doors!!

Where can I find the complaint?

I’ve read the full complaint. This was a new grad from PA hired in 2016 and terminated in 2017. She filed with the EEOC in 2017 and just received approval from them to sue SLB last month. This is a class action lawsuit which is the reason for the $100 mil. The complaint gives specific locations, dates and names names. She was hired as a field engineer and was moved from rig to rig across NM, TX, ND. She had to live onsite in the same trailers as the male crew members and it sounds like the harassment was constant. The worst offenders were Directional Drillers old enough to be her father. Once she began reporting the harassment and then escalating her complaints, she was accused of violating the driving policy and terminated (per the document). She had taken her issue to supervisors, managers and HR and nothing was done. If her accusations are valid, SLB will pay big time.

Like all industries, there is s-xism, favortism, race, creed, color issues. 100 mil instead of going criminal charges against the perpetrators seems to suggest something else......goal digger??

Is this slb is pushing some many raw not ready females up the ladder?? This one will cost slb more than the 100mil for sure in lost growth.

There's likely validity to the claim, especially if the allegations pertain to sites in the backwards knuckle-dragging states listed in the article (particularly TX and OK). For those new to the company, you won't need to worry about losing out on profit-sharing.... you can't miss what you never had!!!

Couldn’t this have been handled by firing the employees that harassed her, with criminal charges if necessary? Instead, SLB may lay-off another 1000 workers to cover the cost... employees (male and female) that have done nothing wrong.

It doesn't surprise me. I'm female and I've been offshore. It's a boys club. If she reports it, she's reporting it to another one of the boys. I was propositioned for s-x by one of the boys once (by text message from his work phone - he wasn't very smart) so when I reported him to HR (luckily a female in HR) things were taken care of.

The lawsuit has been posted online, un-redacted names of the accused and places/rigs where the harassment occurred.

100 million is an impressive figure and clearly a punitive damage number that is necessary to get SLB's attention. SLB has had one-off charges of over 20 billion over the last 3 quarters to they should just settle and add it to next quarter's one-off charge.
She must have been able to get some very impressive lawyers with the promise of this potential legal bonus.

I hope it’s not true but after40 years in this industry I would bet there’s ’ some validity to her claims especially if it happened in the US where I have seen rampant s-xism and racism especially in the southern states!
