Who ever said “ No one leaves IBM on their own terms. No one (below director level).” you have no idea what you are talking about. I’m one of the people who left for a better job and I know dozens more. There are thousands more than that. The writing is on the wall at ibm. Bottom line, they lost any edge or lead or competitive advantage in the tech space. Overpriced generalist resources in GBs, gts getting decimated, their products/offerings are more hype than real, Watson was a disaster, executives feeding off the carcass, blame goes right to the bottom while big bonuses float to the top. The folks who see this happening are smart to leave, the folks who tolerate this happening and stay are too lazy to look for work and the folks who think everything is going well are incompetent. Please, can someone explain why ibm is relevant anymore? Don’t even think about a 33b red hat acquisition has anything to do with it. Top tier management needs to GO! They failed in the worst way. Unfortunately, inside the company, it’s as close to organized crime as it gets- if ur a “made” person there u r untouchable. Those made people have mastered the ibm shell game and know how to point the finger when things go bad and take the credit when things go right.
One thing you all have not considered. HR at IBM is staffed with complete mo–ns, and it starts at the top mo–n. Senior VP level.

You must have not worked for IBM long you're always on a razors edge. Always have your resume up to date. Always assume some street sh–ter is going to take your job tomorrow. Look what happened to Gina street sh–ter got hers too.
