Thread regarding Aetna layoffs

There is a rumor going around that there will be a layoff soon in this particular area.

Does anyone know what is going on with the dental provider area?
I heard there may be layoff going to happen soon?
Due to it being a high risk position.
There were a lot that had to close for the time being.

Who is in that department that knows about it.
I'm assuming it is because of so many closed provider places.

Any details you know would be appreciated here.
Something appears to be about to happen.

For anyone that gets laid off do not apply at United Healthcare. Worst company I have ever work for! Go to their layoff board and read the comments!! They do not care about their employees!!

To the person who wrote the comment below. I'm the woman that wrote the comment just below yours. Are we speaking about the same location. Is this another part of the country or region, if you don't want to be exact?
These were much older workers and the place was empty for a lot of the time.
In fact so many cubicles were unoccupied that I wonder why
they don't sell off the lease or transfer the lease off to
another company or industry, if they could do that. I'm saying the place was 90 to 95 percent empty even when there were people in there.
They have the capability to become fully remote and the workers did not have to come in at all.
So I don't know why they had to come in and then complain throughout the day.
The only department I could think of where they had younger workers
was in the communications department. Some departments had older or even very older workers. I can't believe that they stay at this place out of loyalty or because they want to do some good for others. It has to be that they can't find another job out there and perhaps the accumulated benefits, with raises each year. That must be the only reason they stay and complain.
The rude ones sort of dressed down and gave little consideration with keeping up appearances basically. There were a lot more of these sorts at this place. That happens when the economy is doing tremendously and they feel like they are not replaceable by anyone looking for work, because they have a lot of places to choose from. However, it does show a disregard to the place you work for and those around you. At least try to dress up and keep up your appearance a little. I can't imagine we are speaking of the same place because you wouldn't want to imagine anything going on in regard to the lower part of your statement. I'm not saying there weren't any good looking people here, but they were few and far between. I did not see any interaction going on that would indicate what you're saying. They should at least update the dress code a bit for the older rude workers to take what they do more seriously. This isn't the freaking 1960s anymore or whenever they were teenagers.

These people are rude, unwelcoming and will blame you for mistakes because they don’t want to take accountability or work. They’ve been there decades and will not let the new people into their inner circle. I feel sorry for all the new folks. It’s such a toxic environment and if you dare ask for help they’ll make excuses to not help you. I can’t believe Aetna has paid these people top
Dollar for decades for doing absolutely nothing! Every procedure is outdated and they don’t like to change. What a waste of time and money for the company. Hopefully we get laid off so I can be set free from these people. It’s a very sad situation there and I bet you they even sleep around w each other even when they’re married. That’s how close their inner circle is

I was employed in the woodland hills aetna facility for almost a year. I do not want to be exact on how long I was there. I won't mention the department or what department I was near to. I do think they will be getting rid of this place because it is just cheaper to operate in other states across the country. So it is a cost saving measure.
A lot of the long term workers are nice to to the bosses but apparently unless they are your
friend, they will not help you out, if you ask for help. This way they higher ups think they are nice people, but they are the opposite to everyone else. They get away with this charade and being in this clique club between them. This is harassment and actually falls into the category of the new general harassment law that went into effect in the state of california. They think people are dumb not to know of this new recent law that was passed.
They will be rude if you ask them for help. Actually becoming angry in some cases.
The had plenty of time to gossip, complain, talk, laugh, etc, at the desk with the friends
they have but they did not care to help the coworkers out. In some cases they eat at the desk while working. Yet they do not want to help out. I was there for a somewhat long time as well !!
Is that fine to have plenty of time to talk with a friend but you do not have time to help out your fellow worker on your team.
Such disgusting and the worst behavior I have ever experienced by all. I hope they look at this comment and upper management lays them off the next time things come around. There are plenty of talented people that are unemployed right now and desperate. All they have to do is put an advertisement at the job outreach department at any university and you will obtain qualified health university majors that could easily perform these entry level and administrative positions at this place. They will gladly take up these positions, since there isn't much out there right now. I know the older women grew up in a time when you could be rude to a fellow female unless you were a friend at work, but they should know this time has passed long ago. It should not be any longer tolerated. It is the younger women like me that need to stand up to this behavior for everyone coming in after this.
It is a shame we can't change this since I heard they will soon be closing this area. However, if not then layoff the rude selfish workers and hire the university health workers desperate for work or anyone qualified for that matter that understands to take this seriously.

I was a female employee there and had a hidden recording device. I was at this branch. What they don't know is you can upload stuff on youtube. So why do they treat us like this.

I heard they will soon be closing this facility since it is expensive to keep it.

I think I know about this place.
I was an account administrator there for a lot of years I don't care to say.

I found this posted on indeed and I agree with it.
I don't know if this is the same place you are saying though.

If anyone wants to view the original post than just go to the indeed review site.
Here it is below.

The aetna in woodland hills, california is a collection of employees who have been there for a long time. Meaning all processes are outdated, which means no innovation, and work is doubled. No one is open to new ideas or processes. Senior employees feel that their time with the company allows for them to be unprofessional with no consequence. Management is afraid to speak up and correct those behaviors. this makes anyone new feel uncomfortable. The work could be less if their processes were improved. But, the environment is absolutely toxic and the pay is awful. I would not recommend working there.
