Thread regarding Schlumberger Ltd. layoffs

This is not a way to treat loyal employees

I was texted at 8am that I had a Skype meeting with HR at 10am. I was released, was not allowed to get my personal items from my office, was told they they would be gathered and I would be told where I could get them in June. I had to take my laptop to FedEx for return.

Almost 20 years of dedicated service. Always had top SLP-3 rating. In the end, we are just numbers and president of completions just wants to show savings.

To hell with Schlumberger. I hope they go bankrupt.

This is the SLB USA way. If you have the legal right to treat people like garbage, then do it seems to be their motto. No professional courtesy or human decency. If they simply said thanks for the years of service and sorry to let you go, and then honored the employee contract severance terms, I'd be happy, but instead they didn't do any of those things. I agree that SLB is showing where people really belong. People Last instead of the bs People First propoganda.

Don’t keep the laptop. It’ll be deducted from your severance.

Lots of c-appy advice on here, use your common sense and deal with your former employer appropriately.

Yep. 18 years straight with an Exceeds Expectations on my SLP-3. Gave up weekends, holidays, vacation and countless hours of vacation time. Saved the company literally several thousands if not millions of dollars on products that were just wrong, caught before they went out to the field, non-conformances, countless approvals on mandated testing. In the end and the shocking truth, none of it mattered. I know it s—s but that's the way it goes. This is the classic definition of big corp and in the end you really are just a number. It's not what you have done but who you know, literally. There are sh–ty employees still with the company that are poor performers, don't do their job, and are straight up bad managers. Yet somehow they kept getting promoted along with SETC promotions and merits. How is that?

Always had top SLP 3 ratings....so your one of the many mugs that get s—ered along all year by your supervisors/managers to ‘do your best’, go above and beyond for that all important appraisal rating, hoping that it might benefit you in some way? How did that work out for ya?

Tell them you will return the computer when they return your personal items...

Might as well keep the laptop and get it wiped and re-imaged for personal use. It will actually run well without all of the dog sh** SLB software on it slowing it down. I mean what are they gonna do? Fire you harder?

Sad, in the past one would get a lunch party of team members with a small gift, back when people were human. Now you are lucky if you get a Facebook Foff post

How come during these 20 years you did not understand, employees and employers relationship. You are not the only one with this feeling, we all have the same feelings. It is really.
Now..be an adult, get over it and move on
