Thread regarding UnitedHealth Group Inc. layoffs

UnitedHealth Group laying off American workers and hiring Overseas

For the past year UnitedHealth Care has been laying off American workers and hiring overseas. This will continue into 2020. This compromise of your personal information and the contracts they handle are a violation. Layoffs will ramp back up.

Offshore and English is my first language, if u wanna be specific could say we invented it. I've listened in to alot of calls and reviewed alot more pieces of onshore reps work..... not to be accusatory or paint all reps with the same brush, like above, but tbh can u all say that everyone in ur office are the best of the best. If u were we wouldn't be here. 1. We are paid alot less than our onshore counterparts. 2. We actually take pride in our jobs and don't complain about it on a daily basis. 3. We are fully hippa verified and are only able to view off shore authorised accounts. 4. We assume positive intent. 5. We know your opinions form only a small portion of the company's beliefs as the on shore reps I work with do not share the same disengaged attitude. I wish you the best in all that u do as it can only benefit our members.

This topic really bothers me. I do not agree that they are doing a "wonderful job". That statement is too broad. I think just like any worker you get what you pay for or what they are capable of. Some are good, some not so much just like ANY worker. Based off what we pay them and the turnover rate, we are not getting the best and brightest. They generally use our company to get a couple years in and then they are gone. I agree to existence of ethics violations occurring as management approves giving access to data that is not offshore allowed, sponsors projects with scope including data that should not be accessed. I always love the wide eyed innocence they claim to have when called out.. academy award level.. I could fill several pages with names. Dates, emails, jabber conversations. I have saved them to save my as, yes I am that person. I have wasted enough words and saw them "dismissed" to know who will be the one to blame. It is really only a matter of time before we are sued and fined but honestly they just do not care because we unfortunately get sued all the time. The customers that have those restrictions are honestly small piece of the pie and the risk is worth it financially.. 2 offshore = 1 onshore salary.. That's what we have lawyers and insurance for. LETS BE HONEST. Is it really that customer contracts are being violated or is it simply that our company does not value American workers over non-American that bothers people? For me, I tell them straight up.. I have an issue with violating contracts.. but that is just one part.. The issue I really have is I believe there is an actual difference in intelligence, education and social and culture that makes American workers superior to others most of the time. I am comfortable saying that to anyone no matter how uncomfortable it makes the conversation because I value my own worth. I learned that you do not get any payback when you take up the slack for poor management choices. Bravo is participation trophy. I have made it very clear, I will not train anyone to do my job. I am honestly surprised I still have a job because I tell my managers I cannot train and do my work and unfortunately due to their stupid decisions if I am not doing work, then nothing will get done.. i have been told I am blunt. So if you cannot find someone who can learn independently and expect to replace me, expect to have some pain until you find someone to hand over hand if that is what all you can find require. I am sure there is someone else who will be more than happy to do so, someone who they kept in their latest round of cuts that somehow has time on their hands and is capable of learning and then training or creating the documentation they need. Until that happens, I will remain busy being productive and doing the work I was hired and picked up after 3/4 of the onshore staff was let go. United is not a small business where I feel vested in the success and willing to sacrifice part of my time and God given talents. They are a corporation.. i do the work they pay me for, I do the hours I get paid no more no less. Don't get me wrong, I do my best because any less would be a violation of my work ethic I hold myself accountable, but I do not give it away for free. I give praise to my offshore coworkers when they deserve it just like any other person because I actually like them as people. But given the choice, I would rather work with people in my own country. Finally, as a Healthcare company, making money off American tax dollars from M&R and C&S contracts, I want to know that money is being spent employing American workers since I pay up the as in taxes from the income I earn.

I think it’s time to send file a congressional complaint AND The White House has a link to send in complaints!

We can’t blame the offshore group for any of this. They were brought in- like it or not. And as much as I hate to say it they are doing a wonderful job

This is the second time I've read on this website now that onshore policies/groups claims are being processed and paid by offshore workers. This is a violation of customer contracts. Not sure what the penalty is but only a matter of time before they get sued.

We need them so we can begin to “fix” things around here...

We are directed to give offshore workers access to contracts that were supposed to be limited to ONLY onshore American workers. This is VERY unethical!

Adding insult to injury, United Health Group has been tasked with distributing the $30 Billion allocated to Hospitals and Providers on the front line. This is a task easily performed by CMS. Who would entrust them with taxpayer money during a pandemic?

This is 100% accurate! What I don’t understand is if they hired them to perform our job then why are we “hand” feeding them to perform the job?
