Thread regarding Hertz layoffs

For the lucky ones left

What are the odds the ones left will keep their jobs? I am a furloughed FM. Got furloughed the day everyone got laid off. Praying for a miracle.

It sounds like Chapter 11 and restructuring are definitely on the horizon. I did not realize how bad their debt situation was. I don't have much confidence that "corporate" will ever learn from their mistakes, unless by some miracle they clean house at the top or there is a paradigm shift in managerial thinking. They lost sight of one major rule: Take care of your people. It will be a tough decision for those left behind as to whether to stay or leave considering the current job situation due to COVID. If it were me, I would be looking somewhere else because the economy will turn around.

Seems like all companies are failing right now. If they were to hire people back, there is no way you would make the same as when you left. You would take a pay cut.

Reality check its over! Even by some miracle they do call you back why would you. As scary as it sounds starting over again its the best thing. Look forward to where you are going next don't look behind to what you left.
