Yugo was $3995
Tata Nano was intended to be that car for India and was supposed to sell for $3000. It sold extremely poorly because wealthy people didn’t want to seen driving what is known as the cheapest car on the market. Poor people who could afford it instead went and bought used cars or spent a little bit more to buy an Isuzu and Suzuki hatchback that had more features and better quality.
