Unemployment Benefit after taking VSP

Have any colleagues been successful collecting Unemployment benefit after taking VSP? I'm the unlucky one that hasn't find a job yet. Don't know if VSP will make me disqualified from unemployment benefit. Thanks!

Now that Dec of 2020 has passed, I am guessing the VSP contract which started in Dec of 2019 has ended, and payments from the VSP ceased. Has anyone successfully applied for Texas unemployment benefits who accepted a VSP?

PWA is not additional income. That was yours a long time ago, back when you earned it. The rollover is just moving it to a different account, and was not them giving you anything that wasn't already yours. The same with any stock you have sitting in your account. If you sell it, that doesn't mean you earned more income, and none of that counts towards Unemployment. Only if you're provided new income that you never had sitting in an account before.

@jgj+14tO2lJp Thank you for the confirmation!
How did you address the other income part when requesting payment? like the PWA which was rolled over during the claimed week?

I volunteered for VSP, and still received unemployment, other than for the week I received the lump sum severance payment. It worked out great for me until I started a new job. It wasn't a ton of money, but it was a nice supplement. But you have to file immediately, as benefits don't begin until you file (they aren't retroactive in most cases...with the system issues at the current time notwithstanding).

If you are still receiving checks from the VSP then probably no. If once the VSP is up and you apply then I think you would. I was laid off from Anadarko and got unemployment immediately. I was told since it was severance they did not view that as income for their needs. The fact you volunteered may end up disqualifying you. I would go ahead and setup and account on TEC if you can get in to the system. File the claim and see what they say. Usually they will contact the employer to see if they object, and maybe Oxy is just not objecting. Can't hurt to try.
