Mattel was never a pillar of efficiency, but it seems like if everyone actually worked 2 hours a day at home that things might actually stabilize, or at least delay the inevitable collapse. I would encourage everyone to NOT slack off, but develop a credible self-imposed work ethic and expand your skillset or learn a new trade with the extra time. Mattel will definitely thin the herd at every opportunity, and more people than ever will be let go. Have something to show for your extended break besides binge watching everything on Netflix.

Actually if you are smart and hardworking you will be at the top of the layoff list. Management is clueless and they feel threatened by talent that will show them up in meetings.
Actually pretty sound advice from the OP. Mattel was in steady decline for a decade before Covid, so anyone who expects us to emerge "sustainable" after Covid is kidding themselves. If you don't have an escape plan, now's the time to formulate one.
True that if you are not busy, you are not needed. This period crystallizes what is promoting ROI and what is unnecessary admin or fluff. There’s still much of the latter left. Compensation outpaces true business productivity and innovation among a complacent staff.
Along with family distractions, too much work to fill the day.
How is it in EA? R u busy? Enough work to fill the day?
If you find yourself with no job related work to do during this WFH period, maybe your position is not really needed. Good luck with the layoffs!
It snowed today in East Aurora. 😔
I like very much. Many movies and makin love. Are we getting half day friday?? I like half fridays
The job of CEO+CFO is to sell us.
Hey OP. GFY.
This sounds like something coming from Senior Management. Hone your skills... You're going to be laid off. Good Luck!
Bro, have you even watched Tiger King? I'll stick with my binge watching thanks.
When and who will buy Mattel?
Are you referring employees fresh out of college, with their only responsibility being their job? Others have responsibilities outside of work, that have multiplied tenfold compared to a normal day in a life. Where is all this “extra time” coming from? Still only 24 hrs in a day.
