Seems over and over and with more frequency the whiter you are the more apt to be the first on the list. A/B ratings, top performers, dedicated, doesn’t matter, they will keep an under performing employee for 1/2 the wage, then realize they need two to do almost the job you were doing and be right back to where they were with headcount but no experienced people. This whole thing with HR asking for names to release and you pick the lowest rated under performers and then be told you cannot add them to the list because they are, international, or a certain religion is complete BS. Never in my life have I seen or treated personnel with such disrespect, lack of dignity, or care as SLB has the past few poorly progressive years.

The day we stop having these kind of posts is when there won’t be a need for quotas and checks for equal opportunities.
With the downturn lasting so long, there are relative performers and hardly any underperformers left. Lay-offs are personal so I get your frustration but there is nothing “nice” in letting some one go - be it white or otherwise

You guys are just mad that it's not business as usual for your people. If you go anywhere else here in tx, the status quo is white males over people of color any day of the week. Unless, of course, you happen to be a female of color; then, of course, you are considered 'diversity.' Quit whining, and don't work for an foreign-owned corporation again. That's it.

This is why the country is going down.
It is not about performance anymore. It's about meeting a diversity quota and gender quota at the expense of those that are as, or more qualified. New way of working and people first regardless of profit or quality of service. Trust me it is not just SLB.
