Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

How do we launch a union? I am ready to sign the card.

What does it take to launch a union campaign? I would be willing to recruit. The constant erosion with no representation is going to destroy the company i need to fund my pension. Time to get a seat at the table.

There is a time and Place for everything. Perhaps we are there now? I am deffinatly not pro Union so this is tough to concider. I do think its time for change and for the workers (not management) to be heard, protected, and represented. Will a Union do this, Maybe. If not what is the solution?

Unionizing is an option. However it will be an uphill battle.

Unemployment is too low. Get ready to leave now. They economy will be booming after Covid.

Unions are the only thing worse than what Honeywell has become.

Be careful. You WILL be fired for even discussing unions at a honeywell location. I have seen it happen. Set ground rules. One on one conversations in real life. Avoid anything that can be recorded to start. Only talk to friends and never management.
If you meet in a group scan for blue tooth and ask all phones to be put in baskets. No company phones. no exceptions.
If you create an organizational site make sure you block all honeywell owned IP addresses. I recommend an access check box that confirms the viewer is not on a honeywell owned device. Block you Facebook and avoid linked in.

Remember that the last time this came up private investigators showed up to talk with neighbors of suspected organizers. They were probably hired by the anti union consulting company. To be clear Honeywell DID NOT hire private investigators....they just paid for an awareness campaign. What that consultant does to add value .. not Honeywell’s problem.

Honeywell believes that social distancing will block any likely union activities. They are right. But this will end and ground work collaboration done among friends while on furlough will pay off later.

I see echos of the first depression. Unions between ineffective leading up to the 1930s. They were powerless to stop the job losses and economic destruction. Sound familiar?

This generated a new breed of union. Stronger than ever.

I’m new at honeywell and I’ve seen unions that worked well , at least for my family.

I can setup some zoom meetings amongst friends. No Honeywell equipment or tools allowed.

Need to develop a list of specific issues by location. Retention, overtime, and vacation policy (earned vs held like the carrot on a stick) is at the top of my list. I would also like to see a transparent pay schedule that discloses pay for each position including executive levels similar to some tech companies.

No vacation because we need to artificially overdrive billable engineering with anybody we can stuff on a project would be my poster issue. 111 percent with that 11 percent unpaid and coming out of the time I spend with my 5yr old daughter...

While you’re at it stop voting for union busting politicians. That would help big time.

I seem to recall that every time there is a negative policy change at Honeywell, the little asterisk always state "California, Minnesota and Illinois exempt from this policy" so not sure Unions aren't benefiting you! You have valid points, however your perspective is one from having more and better benefits from having a union, than the non-union facilities that routinely get screwed over. The enemy of my enemy is my friend. Honeywell is the enemy. it is that simple.

I have news for you. The 1145 union is in cahoots with Honeywell. They don’t represent you. They are always agreeing with the company. The 1145 union lawyers are a joke too. They will never represent a union member.

When you are disciplined or the company break some type a state law, statute or company policy. Don’t expect any help from the union. Unless an employee who pushes parts or others around to get more parts for the company.

If you want a hostile work environment and a bunch of unethical people. Vote yes for a union. I think you’ll be treated worse than your right now. Because the company doesn’t want to union, and I think in the long run your situation will be worse.

Here in Minnesota. We pay union dues so our union representation can agree with everything the company and human resource state. When you don’t like union or company answer. The number one answer they will give you. We are unable to help you in this matter. You can hire a lawyer to pursue this matter. We are done with this matter.

The bottom line. The elected officials of our union. Only take this job. So they can have better health insurance, and double their pay. In order to retire better off than you, they have no problem selling down the river.

Your union elected officials. Definitely are getting some type of kickbacks from the company. When the union contract comes up. They state we have them on the ropes. Yet! The next week they’ll say this is the best damn a– contract we ever had.

The last three contracts I went through. The union always backs down and tells the members that they should go along with what the company states. In Minnesota, every contract that comes up. We get closer to becoming like the ones who are not unionize. Why the hell would you want to pay union dues for nothing.

Again! You definitely don’t want a union. If you want to pay extortion money, so your elect officials can retire early and get Cadillac health insurance. Then vote yes. The other issue we have in Minnesota. The group leaders who in the union. Act like management and go against the union and members. They ever get members fired.

The union will protect anyone who pushes parts for the company. It doesn’t matter how they treat their fellow union members. The union and the company seem to always protect these people. When they become unethical and totally become out of control individuals. Expect more bullying, harassment, intimidation, lying, and dishonesty. Expect more parts by not following company process and losing more contracts. Also when these people push parts. Expect record rework than ever before.

Also you can expect more yelling and hostility towards anyone who doesn’t meet the standards of the super chickens. Who are supposedly the best people on the line. The best of the best. I guess their actions show that they are. What a joke.

Definitely vote yes for union if you want to be treated like c-apDon’t fall for that c-ap

remember the union-busting meetings held all in a panic in Clwtr 4 years ago? Yeah? That was all due to a single sign hung from a cubicle wall...where were you then?
