Not sure if anyone else received this news as well, but I was laid off today by telephone. Had a regular check in on my activities with my Supervisor and his other reports. Turns out it was just me and him on the phone. He gave me the news quickly and was just told by his boss to execute the layoff. I’ll be receiving a package to return my stuff. At least the severance will be acceptable. It should get me and my family through this Covid crisis. I hope. Wishing everyone else good luck! Stay safe and healthy!

Looks like we will have more CapEx next month with the office shut down the Facilities team has not had to plunge the 5th floor thus saving labor which can then be redeployed to our CapEx! Guessing 1M plus available

Happy Easter! He is risen! I’ll turn down the yacht rock for a moment for an important message for the SWN family. The family atmosphere here at SWN is a beautiful thing! You’re all like my family and I wish you nothing but peace and happiness, at least for today. The harsh reality is that layoffs and reimagining the future of this company will resume in 22 hours, albeit virtually. Let that sink in. Hopefully JB and CC finally learned how to use Zoom, and refrain from the sausage shots. Although can’t say I minded myself.

You got a job offer at SWN? Which location?
SWN supervisors are great at cutting people loose at the direction of their non supervisor boss. No ability to advocate for the individual contributor, little to no ability to lead or manage, let’s vote for flattening the hierarchy, call the underexperienced ineffective new supervisors and cut them loose quickly. Tough market you know, no more acreage to drill, but our debt isn’t due until 2026, so the bean counters are good! Company is a joke, just like the nill pay awards. laser focused, living within cash flow for life.
Who does this in the middle of a pandemic? Oh wait par for the course cause last three weeks 16.6 MM unemployment line. Add a few dozen SWN employees and that’s that!

Laid off by phone and it sounds like it’s layoffs one here one there so if your supervisor calls it could be your last SWN call.
I’m surprised SWN doesn’t send texts when they fire folks. Tweeting at 3 AM would also work.
Pretty cold hearted to lay off someone during this Covid crisis. But I guess if the company can’t afford it, they can’t afford it. Best wishes to this fella and his family.
