Thread regarding Schlumberger Ltd. layoffs

Life in the oilfield

Unfortunately this is the nature of the beast we call the oilfield. I retired after 34 years with SLB, and during those years we went through many of these down turns. I wish the best for all involved, just know this will turn around it always has, so I’m sure this down turn will be no different. Good luck to all.

Production is moving to Middle East and Russia. If you can move with it great. If not find another industry.

Shut ins and production cuts will cause a rebound to prices of 100 dollars a barrel. We may all be jobless by then, but everyone will be hiring then.

When was the last time the governments paid people to stay at home and airlines stopped flying?
This time is different. Anyone who can move to another industry should.
