This guy hasn’t done anything for Ford Motor Company since he took over. Wait, I take that back, he got us all steelcase furnitures and he spent millions buying the old Union station building. What is this guy thinking? Doesn’t he know that recession comes around every ten years, why the heck didn’t he save for rainy days. It’s pouring raining cats and dogs now and Ford just took a loan for 15 Billions.
Keep in mind almost 70% of the total compensation was stock awards, which were likely granted at some blend of the 2019 price of $8.50-$9.50 or include options that are only worth something if we are at or above a certain price. So at today’s value, on paper, half is compensation is gone. So it is tied to performance to some extent, though not nearly enough in my opinion for the direction the company has been going. Especially since the man can’t answer a question without using an unrelated metaphor and has zero respect among employees as far as I can see
The c-suite salary should be capped at 400k
Non salary compensation should be directly tied to the true performance of the company.
So if company is bleeding cash and stock is tanking non-salary compensation is ZERO.
There is zero incentive now for the pigs at the top to actually perform. It is all about projecting a “rock-star” image and self-promoting and self-interest in the c-suite.
Mulally is the last Ford exec who had an attitude of service. All I see now at that level is “It’s all about me”
He isn't paid enough in my mighty humble opinion.
President Akio Toyoda earns $3.5million for a company that is worth more than the big3 combined. It earns more profit in 1 quarter then what Ford could earn in a year (even in good economic times). The perverse CEO culture of American big business; k–ling our industries one at a time. Disgusting is putting it mild, it's putrid.
No one should be shocked by this. Same story every year in any industry.
