@3twg+14iLvfny.You do know that doctors and nurses with more modern and effective PPE than Seagate cleanroom staff have died from covid19 ? that they caught in ultra clean hospitals? Im guessing you are one of those fortunate emoyees that work from home. You could also be one of those employees who has been encouraged by management to come on this board and wave the flag for seagate, you are not alone.Seagates PPE wont protect people from covid19.
Count me as another that don't agree with critics who think Seagate is supposed to shut down the factory and throw thousands out of work. Get a clue! Any major company running a fab facility is in the same boat, running skeleton shifts to keep component manufacturing moving along. Despite your weak arguments about wrong PPE, the cleanrooms are still a safer environment than going grocery shopping. No one I know is asking for a furlough and is working within the parameters laid down to minimize contact with others. If you think a fab is so unsafe, then you might as well shut down all hospitals too. Shutting down every company is asking for a spot in the soup line for everyone. Shame on you for playing that holy card if it's nothing more than seizing an opportunity to pick whatever bone you have with Seagate.
Amazing to see people (animals? ) on this board rooting for failure of a company that employed thousands of people at this time of crises. All because of personal hate.
Regardless of what a company had done in you personally, eat it up, man up and be grateful that your neighbors still have a job even you are out of job.
It certainly gives no pleasure to see people suffer. Grow up people.
1eqd - They are either already laid off or still employed with an ax to grind. I think the majority of employees are OK with the measures in place because otherwise it's goodnight for everyone. No production, no cash flow and everyone loses. Those who feel that vulnerable should just quit and spare us your whining.

What a bunch of dumbfucks. Over a million people infected in the world, death rate accelerating and all you id–ts can do is play the same stories. No wonder this company is doomed, with employees like you, who needs competition to worry about. Mos needs to clean this sh– up. Especially the lazy engineers and their incompetent leadership..
Wait until a few employees out if each site die.Management might have a rethink.
Dothill will be impacted. Big one.
This is January 2009 all over again.
They used to do furlough Fourth of July week. Now they do lay-offs, at least the last few years in IT.
Not sure exactly when but given that a large layoff was planned even before the coronavirus hit you can be assured that when the layoff does arrive it will be a whopper.
