Original article was posted 10 days ago, and the "next week" became the past.
How did it go in your facility within WBT? I do not see anyone laid off among my colleagues yet...

I retired from Tuboscope last year with over 25 years with the company. Used to be such a great place to work until NOV came along. We had VP's running VPs running area managers and plant managers, it was just pathetic. How many managers do they really need? None of the VP's could even make decisions out here, all of the decisions were made by higher up VPs in Houston who didn't have a clue on what was going on out here. No leadership at all, just a really bad run company. I feel bad for the hard working guys who give their all every day and will be laid off in this next bust. Looks like it's going to be a bad one. Everyone out here in the Permian can feel it.

They need to cut some of these engineering guys. You have wanna be project managers pretending they’re engineers leading some of these projects in our inspection facilities. The fat, bald headed uncle fester looking guy always has some wise a$$ comment to make but never any real solutions. We have to end up going outside our company on half of our projects and pay real engineers to come in and fix everything.

That makes sense, needed Easter to pass to keep from looking so bad. After all that’s what really matters to them.

MDT cut pretty deep across the board, but I'm not sure of all departments yet.

@3mqh How did it go? If I remember correctly, there were not so many who got laid off last year in M/D Totco.

I don't think i am on the line. I took the last VERP too, benefited me well. I have seen it slower than this, so yes It will get better in time, Tuboscope has been around way to long and yes, they still have some work. It may get slow at times but they will keep the hands who work and get rid of d—beats losers, at least at Holmes Rd they will.

If you don’t know then you then you may be on the line also. I’m just saying I left during the last ERP and this is not going to get better. NOV’s Debt to EBDITA is off the chart and oil is 26$. Rig count in the states will be around 350 before the year is out. Have I missed something? I talk to so many people who keep hanging on and finally get laid off and they are shocked. There is life after NOV and it is a good life. All the best to you all.

It does matter. Last layoff did not touch mill inspection or Holmes Rd.. It only affected the field hands in the pipe yards. It can keep a lot of guys from worrying knowing which field he is talking about...agree?

What does it matter which division or subgroup?
It’s going to be a blood bath. Time to move to a new industry. This is not going to get better for years.

@3yng, There are many divisions of Wellbore inspection. Casing inspection, Drill Pipe inspection, Line Pipe inspection, Mill NDT inspection, S—er Rod inspection, Tubing inspection and WellChek inspection. All of these are divisions in Tuboscope. Any idea what division your friend works in?

My friend is an area manager in the inspection department at wellbore. We fished together this morning and he was telling me that there will be a bunch of layoffs this week starting at Tuboforce where he works.

who cares anymore? This leadership has taken more in the last 5 years and ran the product lines into the ground. They DO NOT CARE about you the worker, they only want the bonus money at all cost while the workers bust their butts trying to make a living. They should not allow bonus program for anyone unless the floor workers get this as well. Why doesn't the big money makers take a pay cut? Others in their positions are doing this right now to keep employees employed. The greed in our leadership has no bounds and they really do not care about you the worker. Pete would have never let this company get to this point.
