Thread regarding Windstream Corp. layoffs

PPE NOW!!!

The majority of your front line force has no masks, gloves, or sanitizer! We’re grateful you appreciate us, but show us you do! The PPE training we watched said to tell your manager if you don’t have the PPE you need. Did that 3 weeks ago. Still no PPE.

Why on earth would you think they care enough to spend $1 on a face mask for their employees? Haven't you been here and seen what they think of their employees? What exactly about their past behavior makes you hopeful for anything beyond your always diminishing paycheck and benefits?

It is just NOT too late. The virus hasnt even peaked yet, things are going to get FAR worse in the coming weeks. And so gloves and masks arent for the safety of nurses and doctors?! I think we found another member of our Corp office that was raised out in the Ozarks smh.

The PPE isn't actually for the Field Techs safety. It's because some of the customers are requesting the Techs be protected at their premises. This virus has been going on for 3 months now. Kinda too late now.

No they are a little pissant country isp that has recently been purchased by a vulture fund that owns it and a few other similarly sized independent telcos and are about to bang them together to realize synergies. Wouldn't surprise me if Windstream or whatever corporate container Windstream us after this ba doesn't end up with them for the customer base. We are very good at buying our own former p-ss-d off customer back... Then loosing them.

So is Ritter everywhere? I briefly looked online - it just looks like a legacy small independent telco in Arkansas. Founded 100+ years ago.

Are they expanding out of their old territory?

Ritter is the much smaller company with a much newer network and far fewer outages. Windstream and their Lucent 5e that was installed 30yrs ago by a company that is no longer in business. And let us not forget the rows of Paradyne DSLAMs for DSL and Cisco 7206s for T1 service. And supporting your fiber handoffs an EOL cisco 6513.......and no redundant paths at any level of the network. Windstream really has the worst network I have ever seen.

Well wait until Ritter has to file bankruptcy and pay off a federal judge. We’ll see how aggressive your pricing is then won’t we mr. resell!!LOL

Ritter is taking your business faster than you can replace it. Ritter pricing is very aggressive so who wouldn’t try it
Vs paying for
Your services with all the inflated
Over head you add
To your quotes.

We can sell your services cheaper than you can. Outsourcing, thank you Windstream wholesale

How goes that buyout with the capital fund their Ritter? Have they started to realize their synergies yet?
Also has your FTTT deals selling Verizon redundancy over Windstream fiber which already carries Verizon FTTT burned you yet?

I wonder if we could contract
Our installs out to your
Techs. We have so many we can’t
Keep
Up with the demand.

Thank you,

Ritter

Yeah, they still make net techs in our region sit in the small MAP rooms together waiting for jobs. 3 of us sit there for days with no jobs, but we have to go sit in the central office together. One of us is a senior citizen with copd

I've been telling everyone techs are on the front line too. No matter the company. Everything being done online, well we need techs for that. My x, who isn't with Windstream anymore needs stuff but the company he is with now is at least getting them hand sanitizer, disposable mask etc. Windstream just doesn't care. Pls stay safe out there. I'm sure I've worked with some of you. Pls stay safe

"They’re trying. If things get bad enough I bet TT will give up his salary just like Texas Roadhouse CEO did so his employees won’t go without."

Us Net Techs take the courses every year and made lists every year of what PPE we did not have. Our manager would then laugh and say those courses are so Windstream HR can cover their a– and we would get no PPE because he doubts we would use it anyway......
