So a question for anyone who isn’t full of BS. Many of the CTs are under suspended training instead of a furlough. My thinking is that they sent these guys to school, waited for them to pass and get some training in and then furloughed them before they marked up so that they could leave them on suspended status and bring them back whenever they wanted? Looking for anyone that has some knowledge on this.

Sorry, but there is no such thing as “suspended training”. There is “we don’t want you around or pay you so get lost”. Then if they need you they come crawling backing hoping you don’t have another job. This is cycle that has happened for Decades with NS. For a company that is focused on saving money they sure waste a lot of recruiting, training and retentions when consistently 90% of their new hires end up at other jobs before they are trained or within 1 year of being marked up..
There are 10 states who have not issued stay at home warnings as of 4/3/20. I did a bit of research and it was just as I had suspected, they are all republican governed states. alabama Arkansas iowa Missouri north Dakota south caralina south Dakota Utah Wyoming and Nebraska. I think this is clear proof that they choose money over lives. Stay at home orders hit business and the money machine more than they hit average workers like ourselves. Sure we will take a hit also , but they need us very badly , we create this fountain of money for them by showing up every day
Wow plus three I was of course kidding I think you guys have just gotten used to my humor
You can bet that whatever the company does is in your best interest and the best interest of your family. They also put your health at the highest priority. Now stop the bickering and get back to work.
Nope

Seriously forget about it. The rr will NOT be calling you back to finish training and then have a job. They will never hire another soul for t&e ever again. We are probably within a year at this point of them having their way with 1 man road trains which will mean the train and engine ranks will be reduced by thousands.
Sorry a– company
Exactly, think about it. You have a huge pool of school trained conductors who don’t need to go to McDonough. Now they can just plug them in wherever and whenever they want without opening the school back up. This company man I tell ya
Sounds like a good way for the trainees to forget a lot of the info they need to know before they actually start working, but I wouldn't expect anything less. LOL
They are also hiring for conductors on their website in 8 locations now. I kind of wonder if they are just trying to get their pools beefed up for when the coronavirus really starts to hit.
I don't. But it sounds about right after being in Mechanical for well 25 years. Sounds par for the course. They have already called some back in Roanoke.
