Thread regarding UnitedHealth Group Inc. layoffs

Has anyone heard of layoffs close to April 15 when the next earnings report is announced?

Has anyone heard of layoffs close to April 15 when the next earnings report is announced? I saw a previous post that hinted there might be a big layoff after earnings report.

Post ID: @hiuw+14hVdbS0 - I AGREE with you 100%! This company is definitely NOT ethically complaint and they bully those they discriminated to discourage large public lawsuits. They will start up layoffs not because they are “shedding” nonessentials because “once again” that would be a LIE! All it takes is for them to lay off a person who has the evidence to show what really happened and the actions taken against the whistle blower. The lawsuit will not be based on being laid off... hang on it will happen. Karma is coming it’s a matter of time and it will be soon!

The culture of how this company lays people off is NOT LIKE other companies. Why dont you read some company reviews online and see how UHG stacks up to similar sized companies. This company initially had people still going into the offices when covid19 hit and others companies of same size who had option of WFH options took it. So tell me how this company cares about people??? The news media had to put this corrupt company in check.
You can be a corporation and still care about people. I know we are here to make profits but companies who treat their employees like c-ap will fail to exist in the future. Moral and good people will not stand for the way this company is treating employees... there is management on this site stating they left because they couldnt carry out the deceptive and cruel ways of laying people off.

Self implodes??? Please check your intelligence at the door people. I’m just as concerned as the rest of you, but this company will still be at the top of the corporate food chain long after we’re all gone. Why? Because they make profitable business decisions like shedding employees from time to time. And I hate to be the voice of reality, but every big successful company does it too. I’ve worked at 4 fortune 20 companies over the last 20 years and every single one went through a couple of RIFs while I was there. Quit taking it personal and crying that you got screwed over by some heartless, greedy executives who’s job is to take care of the company as a whole (not you as an individual....that’s your responsibility). This company and no other company that you work for owes you a guaranteed job. Tomorrow is not guaranteed for any of us in anything so save as much money as you can, keep your resume and LinkedIn profile updated, and start searching for and applying for other options so you can get practice in getting through screening/interview processes. You are the only one ultimately responsible for taking care of yourself. You can keep poking pins in your Wichman voodoo doll and wishing demise on the company or you can wake up, change your perspective, be thankful for today and ready for tomorrow.

The reoccurring theme on this website is 50% cuts across the board by end of the year. I'm sure it wont be an even split for each team and will be based on what jobs are automated or can be outsourced. When all best people leave or they are laid off it will be a heartless company. It's just be a matter of time before the company self implodes.

Also, do all of you know who the president really is? If not search andrew witty on wikipedia and read all about his misdeeds.

Noticed on Dave’s Daily yesterday he was very careful to say “no furloughs due to Covid-19”, but couldn’t guarantee same for anything “unrelated” to Covid-19.

I’m not a manager but I’m still here. I’ve been told many, many times that I’m an exceptional employee. Lots of raises and numerous bonuses just recently. Sorry to the folks that have left us. I’m hoping I can slip into some of these vacancies soon.

I’m speaking on behalf of my fellow managers. Really tired of people whining. I want you all to get back to work- you know who you are. When I walk past your desk, I want your down in UHG work. It’s what I pay you for- keep that head down and don’t look up, I do not want to see any of your eyes. Work that business like your in a Cathy Lee sweatshop. For the last time get to work.

I can't imagine they will do layoffs at all, things are so chaotic right now with the layoffs that were done in December - February. But if they do, this is the optimal time because they would have Covid 19 to blame even if it's not really. And you are not alone, 6.6 million in unemployment claims? Hear that one yet. I would definitely do your homework re: your state unemployment process

That seems really cold hearted in the middle of a pandemic. Unless it’s to offset all the philanthropic donations they are making. Wouldn’t surprise if I’m on the list, my managers attitude has changed toward me significantly. It’s like they are trying to find things to build the case.

Disappointing that folks spread rumors about layoffs without real information or evidence... many look to this site for real information or insider information... seems like the mission of the site is being overshadowed by hasty rumors.

It may not look good as far as the timing but with any acquisition there will be some portion of layoffs of the acquired company. It is normal business practice. Sorry to hear though. Diplomat was a riskier buy and had major problems prior.

Optum already announced layoffs for the CastiaRx business segment that was acquired with Diplomat. They are closing all of the sites and letting the workers go. We dont know if it will be 5/1 or 7/1 but its not a good look to lay people off during a global pandemic.

That’s the typical pattern for the company. I have not heard of it for this April as a result of Covid_19 and its hit to the CMS guidelines recently released.
