- 9 Million more jobless claims in the past two weeks. That makes UP layoffs .0004% of that. Time to celebrate how fortunate those of us that are working are.

There was a guy on lay-off line, that did nothing but complain and cry all the time. He’d rag and he’d fuss because his life was a bust, and wished that his more like mine.
This thread is the reason Management treats craftspeople like children.
He doesn’t seem to be worrying as much today as to how others feel. Yesterday was classic angry guy.
Chief triggered seems to be triggered.
No need to worry about me. I’m ducky.
Hey poet, lot lizard, electrician, and I don’t work here anymore guy. Life is grand. Glad to see you’ve lightened up. I was worried about you.
Hey miserable life guy! Life still horrible for you? Ah yes... just the way you like it. Still triggered? Still upset some people are glad they have a job, benefits and a paycheck?
welcome back tinker bell. we missed your poems
Did you check with miserable guy to make sure it’s ok to have an opinion? He gets triggered when someone doesn’t check with him first on what they should think.
Yes we are fortunate to have a job, and yes they are fortunate that most oof us still show up.
I choose to look at it that the railroad is fortunate we are still showing up to work. Maybe some people need to quit getting on their knees praising the railroad and start getting a piece of the pie that the lucky few get to put in their pockets of our backs
In this episode of Days of our union pacific lives.
I simple thank you for enlightening your ignorant uninformed a– was all I wanted. You’re welcome.
Thank YOU for sharing your opinion! It’s nice to know that you’re an a–hole but still have the confidence to spread your dark, miserable views with others. Thank you. Be safe and be miserable.
Who is miserable? we just don’t kiss the feet of UP. But thanks for coming to the lay-off site to share your opinion I’m sure you changed so many hearts and minds
You’re so right. My humble apologies to those that are miserable and want to continue to be. I wish the the best misery possible.
Sure you can be whatever you want but that doesn’t require starting a thread and telling everyone else how should feel.
You’re right. I just figured those that still show up for work do so for a paycheck. That was presumptuous of me. You’re right. My bad. Is it ok with you that I’m thankful I have a job and a paycheck and benefits? Have a great day.
Checked with as many as you did before telling them they should feel fortunate.
You checked with all of them already? Good job and have a great day.
Neither does anyone else.
It’s obvious you don’t.
The point is UP has never had 165 million people, so the fact they haven’t laid off 9 million is irrelevant. UP has laid off plenty within the population they have the ability to do so, and I’m not sure the point of your post. You want people to mail UP a thank you note? Of course the amount laid off within UP is small when compared to the country as a whole. It is one company. UP has treated their employees with disdain and walked them out the door like common criminals, so not sure what you are trying to accomplish here.
Ok. You sound like a genius. You struggle that I’m glad I have a job. Ok. Right on.
47k instead of 50k? Whoa. That changes the whole argument. No calculus needed buddy just simple math. Don’t try and sound smart man it doesn’t work for you.
Try 47,000. And by the way Einstein, they’ve NEVER had 60,000. Thousands of businesses closed and 100% of those employees are out of a job. Get out your book of derivatives. Don’t forget the +C.
Ok 50k. Whatever. Like I said give or take. Point is the same
UP didn’t have close 60,000 employees in 2015.
Let me help out private Pyle. Recently, there were 165 million people working in the US. If 9 million people are gone from that number that’s a reduction of 5%. UP had around 60k employees in 2015 give or take. Since then how many times has UP made a reduction of 5% either temporary or permanent. UP lays off entire classes right after they complete their training. In sum, no one working at UP should be grateful for anything other than the fact they are living in the United States.
God you’re an id–t. We’re a tiny fraction of 9 million people? That’s your argument? Still haven’t seen your formula. Macy’s laid off their entire staff because their stores are closed.
- 9 million Americans lost their jobs in the last two weeks. Macy’s laid off most of its 125,000 employees. Just as an example. We’re a tiny fraction of that. But you do the math.
The original poster is obviously a manager and a graduate of some diploma mill. Please share the mathematical formula you used to come up with that percentage. If anywhere in it you have 9 million you are an id–t because UP doesn’t have millions of employees. Now if you have some similar sized companies and can give a ratio of how many employees they have laid off compared to UP that would be more helpful.
When is lance and Vena going to donate their pay this year to help avoid more layoffs during this time of crisis like so many other leaders are doing? They’re so fortunate and need to be thankful.
Exactly. It’s tough times for millions. We’re lucky if we’re working and getting a pay check. Some of us can’t see the forest through the trees and don’t appreciate what they have. I appreciate my job and I’m glad I’ve got it. Especially now.
We haven’t seen the worst of it yet. Business will drop, then our jobs will too.
Oh good another StraightUPTruth article for our enjoyment.
The difference being those companies are laying off during a national crisis and UP already cut to the bone after they enjoyed record profits.
Go ahead UP lay off some more and see how many trains you’ll move.
