We have no protection other than a bottle of bleach and a wash cloth. No social distancing. Very secretive with the cases of who gets the virus at work. Not notifying other people who may have been around them. People are dying of this thing left and right. Where is the Union? Brothers it’s time for us to strike!

no Up needs to put those people in quarantine that may have possibly been exposed. Which they aren’t doing.
If they tell you someone at your location had a positive test, and you think you should self quarantine or if you have symptoms, quarantine. Just like the rest of the world. Use your head. It’s not that difficult.
We’re not asking for them to put their name on their website but there’s no way they know who all that guy or gal was in contact with in the crew rooms since they got infected. Just letting his engineer or conductor know doesn’t do sh–. And they’re not pulling other people out of service to be safe. Very minimal attitude
It’s not bs. They can tell you if someone in your work area was positive but they cannot tell you who. That would be illegal. Again... use your head.
That’s b—s—. There are other businesses that have had covid-19 people and they alert people who have been around them. That isn’t happening at UP.
The railroad cannot disclose who has it. They’re protected by HIPA laws. Use your heads.
GE workers walking off the job today too for better protection and to demand their plants stop producing engines and produce ventilators to help out the country. Thank you GE workers for standing up for yourself and your country.
I agree with this post! We are critical yet, we are bot protected at all! We have asked for supplies, there is no supplies, we have asked what if one of us gets sick? No answers. So we need to take action! We all want to work just under the correct conditions!
You don’t think people need deliveries from amazon and the grocery store? This is a perfect time to strike for our safety! Hell yes.

You've got to be kidding. Our nation is struggling right now and it is depending on the work we do. I can't stand Uncle Pete, but my fight with him can wait. Man up or go home. You're in charge of your own social distancing, not the company. The only thing I agree with is that they need to be more transparent when people are quarantined/tested. However, we still have a job to do. What are you striking for? What are your demands? You want masks? Too bad, they're unavailable. Besides, doctors/police/first responders/etc need them more than us anyway. They provide gloves, so use them. There are cleaning supplies for surfaces,so clean them if you are concerned. Make a mask out of a bandanna or an old t shirt if you have to. When this is all over if you want to strike because you are upset about the garbage attendance policy, then fine. Not now.
