Thread regarding Barnes & Noble layoffs

Many stores will NOT reopen .

I work in CORP.
Believe me it’s been discussed.
A lot of stores ( the non productive ones) will not reopen.
Plan your future now.

All this is BS. Seems like mostly disgruntled ex employees. Doubt any of them know what they are saying. Every company is having difficulty now. B&N will come out as all others will. Some underperforming stores may close but most are getting internal facelifts to open up better.

I also worked in corporate. Last month it was already discussed among top leadership that stores would definitely be closing. However, some new stores will open, but on a smaller scale. More stores will close than open.

This company is going out of business, more than likely.

This is a line in Daunt's letter that was posted in stores if the store was to be closed: "When a closed store is permitted to reopen, we will demonstratingdo so, and we intend to rehire."

Besides the terrible sentence he wrote, he writes REHIRE. This will mean that full timers are others will be REHIRED and probably lose any benefits and go back to minimum wage. The virus is going actually help them reduce staff expenditures. In my state the stores will be closed for at least a mionth and a half.
