Let's talk furlough, and then the week it supposed to start, bring in new employees and then let 4 days later, start laying people off.
Of the 6 4 of them are in their 40's and 2 of them have been with slb for more than 2 years and you are going to keep the worst performers?

It doesn’t matter if you are low performer or a great performer. it’s depends on how much of an a$$ kisser you are. I worked with folks that missed so much work, watch movies on their computer at worker and took smoke and bathroom breaks every 10 minutes. They are still employed. While the real workers were laid off.

I was one of the unfortunate contract employees. I was at Briarpark for 11 months with no hope of becoming a permanent employee. I would drive two hours to and from work daily. I was a dedicated hard worker then I get the unexpected news. It’s very hard to find a job when you near retirement age. Unemployment website is overloaded that I can’t get in to file. This Coronavirus is destroying people and our nation. Pray for our Country
Being a high performer won’t help you. They cut the highest non-management salaries first.
It is going to be a few people from every department. Many departments have low performers so they will go first. A few departments only have good workers, so those will be tough.
Everyone in the industry is cutting at least 20% of expenses. That means canceled orders so layoffs.
Nothing can be done unless Saudi and Russia stop trying to destroy the market.
Another joke is Trump is backing out on buying the cheap oil right now to refill the strategic reserve. The USA is crazy to not buy cheap oil right now to fill up the reserve.
