cbbn+14ZmwCd8 because you are in the wrong team and location. If you work at HFH, you will survive. One team has three Americans and five expats. Two Americans got laid off. Whenever you get rehired, you must apply HFH.

I was laid off and I am the only non- American in my team. Your argument doesn't hold ground.

SLB will present examples of H1B personnel laid off. Don't waste your severance money on layers.

With 40 million unemployed and long lines at food pantries, it is time to end the fiction that there is a shortage of U.S. workers.

If the administration fails to act, USCIS will admit over 85,000 foreign worker visas for 2020. This adds to the 1.5 million who are already here.

Welcome to America! This is like every industry in the US: companies want the cheapest possible labor. The US supports its system with its military and in return receive millions of immigrants from countries no reasonable American would ever want to call home (i.e. Mexico, India, China, Venezuela, etc).

I saw this first-hand when I started contracting at major E&Ps. I hit the floor laughing when I saw how many visa holders, green cards, and foreigners there were...doing nothing more than typing their way through Excel (a program nearly every high school student in American knows how to use).

Lots of US citizens have been transferred out to Canada, LATAM or middle East, so stop playing victim.

In fact SLB isn't doing layoff the way they should

Without gov subsidies “clean green energy” is dead in the water.
Wind is a joke....89% of existing windmills are idle 90% of the time.
Solar is great in AZ and NM, s—s everywhere else.

This is not only happening in SLB, it’s happening in other oil services companies as well. I wonder what happened to MAGA? Building a stupid wall won’t solve the problem, need to have a solid policy to protect American workers and their high paying jobs!

If you can't hold your own against fresh faced H1-B college kids with zero practical skills, you deserve to get laid off. Those kids have a time limit on how long they can stay, and it costs a lot of time and money to do their paperwork, and they can jump ship the second they get status. If your experience, local network, and native language skills aren't good enough to measure up against that, it's just pathetic. And you're arguing for visa workers taking away jobs from "green card holders", which absolutely no one gives a sh– about. Lol. Former H1-B worker yourself, huh?
