Thread regarding Gulfstream Aerospace layoffs

Censorship on this site

It’s over the top strict so I am done with this site. My comments were supportive of those laid off and not threatening in any way. I wasn’t going to standby and let some jerk bully those laid off. Hope everyone affected lands on their feet.

Union agitation? It's about establishing an effective presence. I have as much concern for the bottom line as they've had for the absolutely abused employees in the past two rif events.

union agitation isn't the brightest move at this point. unions have power and leverage when work stoppages can hurt the bottom line. when work is already stopped and people are agonizing over every cut, you're just volunteering yourself up on a platter to be let go first. when it comes to the decisionmakers on who to let go, there's not much you can do at this point to tilt things in your favor, but there's plenty you can do to make it easy to let you go. it's all up to your merit and how much you've s—ed up to the right people at this point. whose company do you want to keep on the lifeboat for now? you just hope that things don't stay so bad you won't have to throw even more people overboard in the days to come, or that your number isn't coming up sooner rather than later.

Or you could just go get another job if you don’t like the one you have. The union really needs to hire a better firm than these B grade soap opera writer rejects.

I feel bad for all of the negative input regarding unionization. I know it is distasteful and and goes against our ideologies. In times past, a man could stand on his own two feet and make his concerns known. Not now. Not under this current situation. They are running over us with an attitude of submittion. Don't roll over and expose your vulnerabilities. The only leverage to be had is grouping together. I hate that it has come to this, but what else do we have? You tell me. I'm listening. My opinion is rooted in a very conservative, non-liberal mantra and belief. As I ask- what else do we have? Sometimes, I wonder if that is what these plankton s—ers at gd actually want. Play your cards well, guys. We only have one chance at life.

Well, I suspect there are company trolls sniffing around. Probably whacking pro-union comments. I'd do the same thing if I was gac. Corrupted culture is rampant. I could tell tales about cooperation between gac and faa. All are crooks. Line yor pockets and leave. Makes Boeing look like amateurs. The great game of "Let's Make a Deal". "You hire me when I retire from faa and you get a fat concession.!" At the end of the day, you guys need to unionize. Protect yourself. Protect your famlies.
