Thread regarding Schlumberger Ltd. layoffs

Word on the street MORE RESTRUCTURING

Looking like there’s going to be no one left by the time they’re finished

I find this concerning. There are very, very good Directors and VPs that are fighting for positions with some other VPs and managers that have done nothing. This wont end well. I am scared the good people will be forced out and we will be left with those that dont know how to run the business.
We are not asking for micromanagment, but we certainly need leadership that knows the business and does not freak out to make rash decisions because they do not understand what is really going on. We need a VP and Director that can sit in a customer meeting, get yelled at, and then calm everyone down with a good plan that we can feasibility act on to improve the situation. We need leadership that sees the failure in corporate communication and actively wants to fix it company wide.
Nothing is more of a road block to get something done then when you are stuck using an office/department in another country that dont care at all about meeting your local project goals for your customers. A group that will just clock out at 4pm right in the middle of helping you and disappear because they dont care. We as a company need to get more organized. Listen to our people and assign the layoffs to the poor performers only instead of just doing blanket layoffs for entire groups. Keeping the high performers that will get work done no matter what is what made Cameron successful. Those that did not know now to say 'NO' are best we have.
If customer has a well at X temp and X pressure with an X bore then we can always make them something that works very well to get their job done easily and without mistakes. Customers come to us not because of the product, but because they like our people from management to the shop floor. They know our people will do what it takes to make it perfect for them. That is the Cameron culture. That is a successful culture.
Good luck to everyone during these times. But I am fighting to build a team of the best we have to keep us extremely proftiable by making sure our customers get what they need to work safely and in the most cost effective way possible.
Cameron always makes money and I am going to keep it that way. I love you all and ask to not give up. Together we can accomplish so much and we will. You say goodbye and I say hello

Hopefully, they keep the best employees and make big blue again. if not, they keep their favorites and their wives and husbands.

Definitely on the way, probably announced within the next week.

Confident that we can expect the following:

Combining of PLs back into group operating structures. BDT, MI, WIT and D&M together in one group for example.

1 President and HQ team for each group instead of each PL.

Each PL would still have a management team in each GeoMarket.

Combining of functions. M&T/S&C, OPRM/TLM and etc

May see GeoMarkets joined together to reduce the total number.
