There is no transparency. I know several long term employees who were laid off with absolutely no notice. One has a mother suffering from late stage cancer, and his father has Parkinson's and severe diabetes. His job helped paid for some of their expenses! Our immediate "people leader" was aware of the situation, and he was still cut. Heartless company, no morals. I've been with the company for 8 years and this is sad. Business as usual though. Goodluck to all those who have been laid off and furloughed. I really do hope the grass is much greener on the other side.

Ditto on this one.
It is so unsettling to hear employees being paid 6 figure salaries to do nothing. There are so many ppl out of jobs now that are smart and hardworking that show appreciation for their work. These are the people that should be given the opportunity and those that choose to skate under the radar meanwhile getting overly compensated should sit on the sidelines and may learn to appreciate the opportunities they are given.
I work for this company and there are people being played off, but business is being send overseas. I am embarrassed to tell people where I work.
I see this so much. The organization is very much top-heavy with management and executives that literally do nothing at best, but very often just impede progress through their own ignorance and ego (Dave Brown, looking at you).
100% true....they don't care. Only time until they can offshore everyone at half the cost. The IPO was an epic failure, enormous debt ($5 billion), and lots of six figure lifers in PA, Newton, MA, and Nashville who do nothing more than hide out. Technology internally and in the products is antiquated. Only a matter of time.
Hello,
Are there any reported impact to bay area based teams and will those offices close?
It's strictly numbers, with the SLT making sure they get theirs... and they are. Nothing but pure greed and the nauseatingly typical attitude and behavior of large companies.
Transparency isn't really a thing when it comes to layoffs. They like to notify people at the last minute so they can quickly get them off the property before they sabotage anything, or even go postal.
In the past they have gone by seniority when doing general layoffs. It's easier that way. They don't have to spend time trying to choose and cant be accused of any kind of favoritism. They just lay off in order of who has been here the least amount of time.
Our senior leadership hopes that these wrongs will go unnoticed and that we will turn a blind eye out of fear for our positions during scary times. Resist becoming a collaborating scab when they axe our friends and colleagues and expect us to pull the extra weight. This company has already attained record high efficiency.
