Thread regarding Sears layoffs

People are getting a little ahead of themselves

People are speaking about Kmart and Sears as if they're liquidating and anyone who still considers them a going concern is insane.

Transformco is very much operating
Transformco operates Sears and Kmart stores
They are not currently liquidating
These are real stores with real buildings, merchandise, employees, customers, and sales

Please keep that in mind when you want to pretend that the future of Kmart and Sears is a foregone conclusion.

When is Eddie Lampert going to pay the liquidators for services already rendered? Is TransformCo too broke to do so? Over 2300 stores already liquidated, and he still doesn't have enough cash to run things.

Hold on there
PAL, real stores?
What is a store?
You go in, by choice, pick out something you would like to buy but wait-
No we can't order that refrigerator
No we can't order that washing machine
No we can't order that dishwasher
No we don't carry lawn mowers
No we don't sell that tool anymore
No we don't have your size in Levi's and no we can't order it
You want us to send out you diamond ring for repair (which you purchaseda lifetime warranty on- sorry we can't do that
No can't order your favorite work boots
So, the concept of a store is, you go in, by choice and make your selection. Sears has nothing to offer now Mr/Mrs customer you may leave by choice. And I know you will never be back to this "STORE"!
Close them down and I guarantee you that 100% of the employees know Sears is ready to liquidate.

"Transformco is very much operating" - Not by much and is desperate need of cashflow that they don't have.

"Transformco operates Sears and Kmart stores" Okay...that's a fact but what does it have to do with anything?? Again, they don't run them well, either.

"They are not currently liquidating" - Keyword there "currently" that doesn't mean they won't in the future. Even as you said that you couldn't even say "They are NOT liquidating" so what does that tell you?

"These are real stores with real buildings, merchandise, employees, customers, and sales" - Again, you are making statements that yes, are factual yet add nothing to your argument. Guessing what you are trying to do is make it sound like "OH THESE POOR WORKERS!!! HOW DARE YOU FILL THEIR HEADS WITH SUCH NONSENSE!!! HAVE YOU NO SHAME?! NO FEELINGS FOR THEM?!" Please...I feel at least over 50% of the workers in this company know they are going to lose their jobs, they are not naive like you think they are.
