So I’m sure everyone got the standard “lay-off is final unless rescinded before 15 May”. Do you think there is any chance they will call us back? If so, when?

I am retiring in December and moving back to family. I didn’t get RIFed. I know why I wasn’t let go and I won’t say why here because it will identify me. A person who I work very closely with who was top notch was let go. He’s a great guy, smart and a hard worker and between the two of us, they kept me and not him. He’ll land on his feet and he’s already being recruited, but it’s a loss. Gulfstream doesn’t know how big a hole they just created. Raising my glass.
Given how this was executed in this manner to the folks that I personally know who had only ever worked hard and loyal to GAC - although I am not on the RIF list, I can say that I’m certainly not waiting to be the next one to be called... GAC did this to themselves and I can only forsee more and more good employees going to start looking elsewhere when the opportunity comes.
Gawd I hope not. I'm out, packing my sh– and getting outta here.
I have been told that the callbacks are done. But, who knows?
Do we still have a chance to be called back ?? Please share any related info
Callbacks seem to be happening right now. I know some who were called back today. How loyal/motivated do they think these employees are going to be? What a Charlie Foxtrot. I’m not surprised though. This “you might be unemployed 2020” might be better than the “oopsie your badge doesn’t work 2019” or “Merry Christmas 2015”
That's my plan if I get called back. Take the paycheck, but keep my resume out there in the meantime.
I hope many will be called back to be able to financially sustain themselves with the salary. But I encourage called-back people to look for a different company in the meantime. If they fired you once, they will fire you again when the next round of RIF comes.
I know one person in my group was called back. I have not been called back, yet.
A Mark Burns email went out saying management will be back in office the week of the 18th to decide how their employees will come back to work. What a lie - they're going to be there with security so those laid off can get their personal belongings.
They've already deleted people from peoplesoft and moved people from different departments to even out the mechanics in the different silos. So no not likely. Only question now is who is next?
I was part of the October RIF. My suggestion to you is start preparing now just in case you are let go permanently now or in the future. Update your resume. Update your LinkedIn profile. Set up job alerts on LinkedIn and other platforms. Don't waste time worrying. Don't wait on them to decide your fate. Take action now. Good Luck.
3 people out of 20 were called back in my department. Oh they are happy.......Perfect brainwash.
Are they able to rescind to have people decline and not have to pay severance?
Buddy, I would say you have a free ticket. Take yo' $ and run. For the rest of the folks that have to pick up the slack, double the work and less people to do it, you have a walk in the park if you are wise with your $ and reinvent yourself. Don't look back. Soldier keep on marching on....
Thinking no chance and I'm glad I'm out. It's been a pretty stress free 10 days and don't have to worry about picking up more of a workload.
I was one of the lucky ones that stayed so I have been told. I have been sent back to the shop I was in when I got my blue badge at least the POS that I worked with is gone. Not sure if I can do the the heavy lifting I did before.
No, sadly they won’t call any of us back. They wanted the stimulus money and force the remaining workers to double or triple up
On the work load. Best to part ways and find a better company.
There is some lobbying going on behind the scenes by middle management. Don’t have any idea if it’s gained any traction or not.
If you get called back it would be mission critical. However they are currently training the leftovers to do your job Iam sorry. I hope Iam wrong.
Slim to none. I am sorry. Move on.
