One thing that they've proven is that if you want to survive long term under Eddie, you've got to be as incompetent, cowardly, and terrible at management as he is. There were what, 150 senior execs who fled at earliest opportunity under him? Many of them went on to make hundreds of millions as soon as they left Sears, many at startups with barely any capital. If you can't lose at least a billion a year, you're out. In Eddie's world, competence is not to be tolerated.
