I was laid off after 18 years. After much thought I realize it’s the best thing that ever happened. I enjoyed the group of people that I worked for and stayed there when I could’ve made more money. Also believed the company had integrity and respect. It breaks my heart to say I know longer feel that way not because I was let go but because of the way they have handled things. Gulfstream will never be the same I know that in my heart it makes me wanna cry. The decisions management has made are detrimental To the companies will being. I am very sad but will move on and wish everybody the best

People that have seniority and rest on their laurels should be removed. If someone has seniority and is a reliable contributor, they should be allowed to work. We've all known both types. Discretion should have been order of the day.
When they push production and focus little on quality and proper training, it's no wonder the company is heading downhill. When guys on the floor don't know how to pull up a model, find a GAMPS, or even know what a BOM is, there is a problem with culture.
One problem is they keep people that are not productive, and get away with doing the bare minimum. They have other people complete their work, and the management has no clue or maybe they don’t care. It doesn’t matter how long you’ve worked at the company once you are no longer contributing it may be time to retire. I guess some people are just protected so they get a free pass.
I'm still working at GAC and I agree with you. It's not the same place to work. Steadily going down hill for years now. Employees were made to feel like part of a team at one time, but now it's just managers saying this it how it will be done with no interest in what the guy on the floor has to say.
I am starting to see a pattern going on here-it seems GAC has purposely dumped employees with years experience and somewhat near retirement age. It goes to show the ruthlessness the upper management has for good people who gave a good part of thier life only to be dumped like trash. If this story dosent say it all I dont know what would. Keep the faith that it will all work out for the better in the end. It is written You reap what you sew! Yes and lets use the Virus as an excuse- I think we all see through their lies!
