Hope the layoffs are not based on politics and favoritism.
Anybody who has been with this company for more than a year knows that layoffs here are ALWAYS based on politics and favoritism. I'm still waiting to see some of the laziest workers who are excellent behind-kissers be shown the door while some of the best and most experienced employees are long gone.
If you are expecting Pearson to rely on merit when doing layoffs, you'll have to wait a long, long time.

Our center is having a center wide POLS townhall meeting today and corporate keeps reiterating the profit loss for the last two quarters im expecting the worst the Sales tactics used are harrasment and most student want us to leave them alone why would they attend if we treat them like we are money hungry collectors
Do those who remain at Pearson still spend time worrying about layoffs? Haven't you realized the company is dead? Why are you still there? Still hoping to catch a package? What a way to live!
You hope there will be layoffs in sales? That's f'ing great. Meanwhile, our tech, systems, order fulfillment, customer service and tech support are ALL garbage. When products don't perform, there is no tried and true mechanism to support post-adoption and tech support is spotty at best, don't expect miracles in terms of repeat and increased business. But sales is the problem, right? We sell this garbage then get smoked by unhappy customers and students. How about trimming the fat at the product level and bringing in people who know what the hell they're doing? Sales is the problem. You're an id–t.
I am a current Pearson employee and I couldn’t agree more that main reason we are in this mess is because of behavior and work ethic of the over paid sales teams.
I hope there will layoffs in sales. You guys are what have been bringing us down.
