The company has started making “Bully Threats” to intimidate managers & sales people into taking buyouts. They have stated that these efforts to get to a company wide ratio of 80% contractors to 20% employees will intensify and continue through the end of 2020. Some have been offered enhanced packages on the management side. Don’t look for that to happen on the craft side as our union has prohibited any further enhancement of voluntary buyouts. Sadly the involuntary separation payout is less than half of the voluntary amount on the craft side. Management employees are threatened that they could wind up getting nothing if they don’t take the offer.

I don't think the 80% contractors 20% employee ratio is wrong. Engineering management team I report to has made it very clear contractors, I mean our "partners" are king and company employees are worthless. We are not allowed to question or challenge what contractors are doing even if it is wrong. Fingers crossed my VSPP is not denied. I can't wait to get out of this toxic environment.
I Have been receiving new texts every other day e-mails daily and several voice mails from Adcomm , wise connect, and I.T.C. —they are looking for new techs in CTL areas daily at this point ? So i would assume that, yes many are taking this offer based on the volume of offers extended by other companies. Central florida is placing contractors faster than you can keep track
Apparently a lot of people are signing up for this in service delivery....they may get more takers than they expected.
80 mangers 20 tchs that is funny
Take the money and run - its a favorites game at Centurylink - sales is protected and the service delivery team and techs are screwed - this is an evil underhanded - bigoted company - I have seen it with my own eyes - code of conduct violations everywhere - management s—s - sales people lie - I am so glad I got out of here last year - My heart breaks for my former co workers who are now stuck after 20 or more years of service, while they base your performance on made up numbers they can't even defend —while Mr Storey goes to the bank.
thats funny ! 80 mangars 20 techs .. LOL
Has anyone heard what kind of numbers they are looking out of this round? The only thing that hear thru the old grapevine is that the numbers out of Waldens group are big but no percentages or number estimates.
I heard no more enhanced like 4 times now, it is rare, but when they want numbers they dangle the candy in front of the White Vans door.
Wrong Bucky. Got it in writing "company will not contest unemployment" right in offer. Be pretty hard to go back on that.
Take the VSPP and run.... Your welcome.
Think again Bucky. If you take the package and claim unemployment the company will contest it. Used to under the old regime but this is L3 boys.
Sitting on the same offer in VA. No brainer. Gonna take it. They tell you right in the email no more enhanced packages after this one. If your in an area with no work, you know what's coming if you don't take it. I want the extra three months pay, and extra cobra. No future here.
My org got the email to sign up for the enhanced package or roll the dice and if they rif someone they get the standard package. The enhanced package is nice but in my state it will whip out my unemployment benefits for 26 weeks.
So take the package and join the other 30 million on unemployment or stay and pick up the work for the people they cut and take on more??? Decisions decisions ....
As far as I understand the CWA contract for Legacy Qwest the VSPP offer is part of the negotiations before Surplus declared and they can enhance if Union approves.
In WA the company can only use 20% contractors.
For craft it depends on the language of the contract. For the region I’m in the contract is 80/20. I’ve been told we are only using about 10% contractors but you can bet that’s going to increase. For non bargained titles, Jeff can and will do what’s in the best interest of shareholders.
How is the lay-off payout less? Is this for non represented craft?
Isn't that what we're at now 80 managers to 20 techs
80 / 20? I think 80 company and 20 contracts not the other way
