Not a id–t, are u or ur spouse in hr? Understanding slb technology infrastructure and some stories I have heard about misuse of information first hand, this is a major issue. Not one off. Rather major issue.

@Trying to help, there are HR employees whose spouses work in the company but the HR is not allowed to access their personnel file or manage anything such as LoadChart (time approval) or Short Term Disability cases, for example. There are not legal implications, as it it not illegal for spouses to work in the same company.

And how would North American HR being from the US have legal implications? Sounds like you have no clue what you're talking about.

Does anybody has count of the following?

  1. How many HR people have their spouses work in the company? This can have legal

Implications.

  1. How many HR people come from technical background but in HR? These are the people have switched responsibilities to keep somebody happy.
  2. How many North American HR are from USA? This may have legal implications.

Fact is SLB is a quagmire of dysfunctional process, internal politics and overpaid executive staff with compensation incentives misaligned with whats best for the company. Making huge acquisitions just before a market crash, competing with our clients by acquiring oilfields, financing bankrupt state oil companies to buy our products (but never getting paid) while senior executive compensation goes through the roof. Heck we even pay the last CEO $1 million a year and he doesn't even work in the company anymore.

This company should be broken up and sold off

I disagree with the overly broad characterization of HR. I've done a stint in HR and found that "local HR" (usually the Admins and Reps) generally does care about employees and tries their best to help them. But local HR's hands are tied with bureaucratic red tape and dumb processes as much as the hands of a JDL or Ops Manager. The disconnect happens at the Product Line HR Manager level and up. Those folks lose touch with the rank and file, they may as well be Finance because it's all about making numbers look good. I also disagree that HR employees just look out for each other. I've seen several HR folks turn on each other, throw each other under buses, etc. Just remember when it comes time to have your release meeting, the HR releasing you probably didn't make the decision to put your name on the list for cuts. They are too far down the food chain and are just the unlucky local schmuck who was told to be the messenger.

Lol! Are you serious??? It’s been always like that... they are there just to cover they’re backs with each other. They don’t really care about the employees they are just a GIN number in a graph or a piece of paper... nothing new!
