Let's see if Ynon can talk the price back up on the earning call with the usual nonsense and lies.

Of course the movie department was not touched. These people are like Ynon’s children. If they go it will ruin his charade that Mattel is making movies.
Did the movie department get laid off?
Sounds like a textbook case of securities fraud.
There is no Barbie script, no Heman script, no nothing...Absolutely nothing. Nada. Zero Zilch. It’s a complete charade.
😂
This site needs a laugh emoji.
You can't just come in as a new CEO, announce a bunch of movies, create a new film division, hire a bunch of Hollywood producers and then NOT make any actual damn movies!
The Barbie movie is supposedly still being made, however there is no finished script and no production schedule. The only casting announcement was that Margot Robbie would play Barbie. However by the time the script is done I’m sure she will have other better movies to make and will bow out (just like Amy Schumer and Anne Hathaway did in the past). All of the movie announcements are just PR moves, not one single movie is in production. The CEO came in trying to sound like he had great new ideas to turn this toy company into an entertainment powerhouse to rival Disney. And the Board bought it, it truly is unbelievable.
Employees and shareholders have not been given any info on the movies and how and if they will ever generate revenue. No schedule, details nothing but a charade. Only press releases and no substance of information has followed. The more you hear about Mattel Movies business, the the more you can see how it will not work as presented.
I wish someone with actual insider info on the movie production would post even a brief update here. I don't work at Mattel so I'm not privy to the updates Ynon shares at his town halls.
It's been almost a year since we've had any update in the press about the Barbie Movie. I'm starting to worry it will never see the light of day.
The topic must come up at company wide meeting. Can someone at least confirm the film is still being made? A finished script? Production schedule? A cast? Anything?
There is no movie industry for a while though Trolls II did great upon digital release.
Movie theater biz is a dead industry.
The Barbie Movie, Hot Wheels Movie, Matt Mason Movie, etc can not come fast enough! I hope everyone on the movie production side of the organization are working double or triple overtime to wrap up production on these films and get them in theatres.
Clearly the selling toys business model isn't working and hasn't been working for years now. Where are the darn movies?!
Oof! 😣
