Seen only shut down couple shops temporarily but subject to open in one month. So actually no ones been really furloughed. They should of done it like our shop and take voluntary time off, to save eachother even though its like hardley no units to work on.

They yard might be there but they only need a service track to service locomotives mechanical wise. They’ve all said jenks was a necessary evil and look what they’ve done there for now like someone stated they can scab the work out and be more cost effective then fixing it themselves. No one is untouchable as long as they keep trying to pay stockholders and decide the customers and employees are expendable.
Only reason they haven't laid any of us off in North Platte is because we will probably be picking up all the work from the shops that recently closed. They have no choice but to keep us and rely on us since we are one main shops in system that keepS this railroad rolling. Ask Vena he said Bailey yard will always be around.
The way I see it, the unions already bent over and said - " Boy we are sure glad to help the carrier in these tough times – We will gladly take time off with no pay as long as long as it means no lay offs."
The big problem is that there was never an official agreement that there would be no lay offs if we took this undertime bs. Only a possibility that it may not happen if we oblige. Nothing in writing, no voting yay or nay, nothing guaranteed except there there are no guarantees.
This is more proof that the unions are spineless and there is no hope for anything positive in our future negotiations for the upcoming contract.
283 people lost their livelihood and our main concern is bashing one another’s face infighting each other about improper grammar and spelling? Really?
If you fall for this voluntary bull, you must be blind. You layoff, they are just seeing how many people they can run your shop with. Show up to work and protect your job. If they are going to furlough, they are going to do it regardless. Trust me your aren't doing yourself any favors. All you are doing is helping them get rid of you and other employees. Think about it...
Tell that to the 283 guys in North Little Rock that went home yesterday not able to clock in today because someone else is doing their job now because they “temporarily” shut down Jenks shop. If that isn’t considered furloughed then what is it? Time will tell just where everyone ends up in this Unified 2020 plan but it definitely isn’t over yet they still have many dollars to step over picking up pennies.
Undertime isn’t going to save this company all they did is add something else they can use in the contract negotiations whenever they finally happen. It’ll be added to the list of things that union reps say they can do that. Yea more then likely the three locations that are being re-evaluated to open in June won’t ever open again if luck works in favor of the workers maybe one will open back up. Hundreds of people just got sent home for the only reasons of trying to keep paying out dividends, and to cover a$$e$ of people who shouldn’t have ever been placed in charge because they ended up running paying customers off because they didn’t fit a bull$hit business model.
And learning grammar might take some time as well.
Oh my people, you are so deep in the woods you can't see the trees. They did these to avoid the WARN ACT and to take advantage of the enchanced CARES ACT benefits. So when June comes around and the shop is not opening the natives are pacify . They will be compliant and happy getting paid to stay home. So you will not fill the ax hitting you in the back of the head when they permanently close the shop down in the fall. do you really think the economy is going to bounce back that fast? They're not vgoing to close a whole shop and miraculously open it back up two weeks later because everything is rosie again. The wounds are deep and it's going to take a while for them to heal.
I can’t believe people still listen to lying Lance and believe what he tells them. It’s all out war with the people in overalls right now at Enron pacific railroad! Wake up to reality man! Nobodies been furloughed? Ask the people who aren’t making a paycheck what they think of that!
We did sign up for this little under time roster, and guess what happened on day #2....yep you got it, shut down notice. Not only verbally but packets were placed in hands. Ah yeah the undertime guys came in to get their packets. So keep thinking that UNC P keeps your best interests at heart and that undertime can save you, it won't. They don't even care about customer satisfaction, only the share holders'. One month shut down verbage is just a PR stunt to get us out the shop quietly. As long as they can get the same work out of less people, things will stay closed. Just remember this it's tip first.

I think this guy wants to hear something positive from this. I am a optimistic person but reality is that this is olny the beginning man. Hold on tight because this roller coaster is far from over. Good luck.
Were all goin down. Here come the contractors.
Not likely over.
Those shop closer will be permanent, dont let U.P. dazzle you with b—s—!
What happens when you take voluntary paid time off, and they figure out that they can make the same numbers with half the employees.
What then genius?
