Just get ready for the announcement of Qatar Executives cancellation of their contract with GAC for projected AC orders previously forecasted by Gulfstream. 5 of those 11 AC not able to be delivered in the quarter will not be going to Qatar Executive as originally planned. These are unfortunate times for everyone in the world and the perfect scenario for Corporations to make cut throat decisions “based on” a lot of “factors”. GD has been building its amount of “Defense” industry type companies in its subsidiary holdings for years. Good business practice or preparing to handle the fall out of their plan to sell Gulfstream? There has been talk of this and “rumors” about it since I started at GAC SAV in 2008 and until I left GAC SAV this year. When it’s all said and done, my thoughts and prayers go out to everyone and their families affected by this across all the GAC sights.

This is nothing but gut-sourced speculation on my part, but... I wonder if they are cheaping out on the WARN situation to make the co. appear more attractive to a potential suitor. Just a thought.
To begin with and most importantly, take a moment to look over your reply before submitting. Errors in spelling, grammar and punctuation are dead giveaways to an uninformed and emotional reply. Furthermore, incorrect abbreviations or shortening of commonly used vernacular by current or former GAC employees is a dead giveaway to the merit of ones reply. 🧐
Who is is writing this b—s— needs to have facts and not based on an opinion. Obviously this person does not understand General Dynamics profit margins and supply chain advantages they have.
This person must have been let go as someone who does not understand business and does not understand the 5 year back order finances that Gulfstream has with government contracts and the private sector.
What are they going to do but. Bombardier or Embraer private jet from the sound financial companies?
I sincerely doubt GD will be selling GS. Since GD sold the F-16 production to Lockheed they have no other aerospace divisions. They need GS to stay active in that market.

#theclueless... have you ever reviewed the % contribution GAC makes to GD’s bottom line? Im not sure most institutional or any investor would consider that “small”.

Gulfstream has been a cash cow for GD for many years. Seems they would be nuts to sell it, but they’ve never taken a hard look at the people running Gulfstream either, so who knows. They’ve largely stayed out of Gulfstream’s affairs since Gulfstream has been steadily contributing to GD’s profits. Due to the lack of competition and huge margins, it would be hard not to make a profit. This downturn seems temporary. I doubt they’ll sell it, but if they do I hope they find a buyer that really cares about the aircraft we’re producing and the people that make them. The work force has been demoralized for years from poor good-ole-boy management. People aren’t giving their best ideas to improve processes and designs, they’re planning vacations and and doing the bare minimum.
GD has been building ships, submarines for decades. GAC is a small part of there portfolio boys.
Get out of Rincon a little more often.
