Thread regarding ConocoPhillips layoffs

COP Executives 3 Private Gulfstream Jets at IAH Airport

Please explain why ConocoPhillips has three Gulfstream 550 jets for company Executive travel use?

Each Gulfstream cost shareholders 250K x 3 = 750K a month in payments and this does NOT include airport hangar and staff (aviation mgr, safety mgr, analyst, pilots, mechanics, support staff, etc. etc.

Because the executive washrooms in the new skysc-apers aren't high enough above the rest of us common riff-raff. "Must pee higher... must pee higher... MUST PEE HIGH-EEEERRR!"

Yes, often their wives travel with them. But don’t worry, wives travel for “employee morale” (while they go on massive shopping trips).

Also, the costs of the wife’s travel is considered income to the executives. (Except it’s reimbursed and then grossed up for tax purposes so there’s no impact).

Look up “hypocrite” in the dictionary and find their faces while the layoffs continue.

BTW, their spouses often travel with them on trips, another significant waste of $s.

Appalled at the blatant behavior of the ELT and BOD concerning these type of unimaginable cost. Stockholders deserve better

Cut all discretionary spending. It’s survival mode. We could run this business with 40% of our current cost structure. If that isn’t clear to you then you are part of the problem. Zero base now.

So... you’re complaining about exec perks why? Heck, if I was one of those top dawgs, I’d take the jet ... you know you would too.

I believe the Board deemed it "unsafe for Security reasons" that the ELT travel commercial. This is not unusual. Th ELT would probably much rather fly commercial, hang out in airport lounges, mix with the masses, take an Uber to the airport - but they work at the direction of the Board so they are stuck riding in the private jets.

Spirit values. Bah haha. Invoked by ‘leaders’ to control the masses and keep fat incentives rolling. Not actually remotely part of their core values

I remember in 2015-2016 we ended up with an extra leased jet when we reduced the size of the ELT. We could not use the extra jet, so it remained unused for two years. That’s when Facilities got blamed, bottom VCIP award, and the manager let go.

Get rid of two of the aircraft, increase the dividend to stockholders, make them fly commercial through the travel dept. These changes will ensure that COP keeps its SPIRT VALUES by example. The I stands for Integrity with stakeholders. This would be a good start and set an example to the employees that we are valued and the the leadership is feeling the pain during these times. Action speak louder than words.
