Legacy Anadarko GOM folks alluding to a Piper or Macondo type incident should be banned from the industry.

I'm not whining about a paycut. The GOM is a top asset, unlike most legacy Oxy piddlydink bottom feeder assets. Most Legacy APC GOM employees could take another job with another company, and get paid more or the same to do less, but we tend to stay because of the culture of excellence and the opportunity for advancement. Once those two things are taken away, people will fly like birds.
jealous lol
Like I said, whining again...
@1bju if you have a problem with a 30% pay cut why don't you grow a pair and leave like the GOM folks? At least they're taking a stand. Sounds like you're just jealous.
To be fair, Anadarko employees didn’t have anything to do with the VH deal either. It’s unfortunate for both sides, and leads to a tremendous amount of animosity and tension within a company that is struggling at best. APC folks have some protection with COC and I can only imagine the added frustration that brings to Oxy folks. Let’s be real though, the people working in both camps are stressed, uncertain of what the future holds, and just trying to to the best they can for their families.
I’m sick of Anadarko employees complaining about their pay cuts. Try getting a 30% pay cut and see how you feel!! Oxy employees had nothing to do with VH deal, yet we are paying the biggest price. Anadarko, stop whining!
Oxy has no clue how to handle BSEE. We may just relinquish our job as operator to Someone else with the wherewithal like Shell or LLOG. Another Piper or Macondo brewing.
Currently, there is a mass exodus of GOM field leadership (OIMs and Team Leaders) A lot of these guys were going to retire anyway, and have been holding out for CoC or VSP, and are tired of waiting. In August, after they cut our pay again, there will be another mass exodus of operators, techs, electricians, and mechanics. The downtime will be horrendous, and we will start receiving a lot of attention from BSEE and Coast Guard as the incidents start increasing.
Mass exodus of GOM employees?
I'm guessing this has to do with the earnings call on Wednesday when all the board comes in with their hired vehicles and suitcases, fresh off the private jets.
Are we speaking in code now?
Can you make a clear sentence?
Why?
