Even if there was a buyer, wft would screw up the deal and wait too long to react.

Why would nov want wft. So you can have a bunch of underemployed tool hands breaking and losing things and junky trucks to haul stuff around and wrecks and fuel and repairs. No thank u

There are discussions behind closed doors between WFT and NOV. Its either selling off certain products or a full merger. This process takes a very long time.
Q1 results, NOV has more than $1.5BB in cash with Less than $500MM short-term debt due in 2022; well covered. If you have the cash, there’s probably no better time than now to pick-up the one of crown jewels (completions) even if you have to take the red-headed step child (MPD). Insiders - any major changes to the org structures, beyond the obvious covid/oil price crash necessities?
NOV will be lucky to survive this fiasco as is. No way they’re in a position to buy anything like this. They’re currently scrambling trying to sell off assets.
What company would put themselves in that much debt in a downturn?

This thread fully encapsulates my experience with Weatherford. Rumors of being sold on the one hand; buy stock because this rocket is about to launch on the other.
And it is, that's why nobody ain't gonna sell sh-t. I would buy shares now if I had a few bucks. You'll see soon

Whaaaat they gonna sell a product line??? Can't sell completions, no one will but a shut down and money losing operation . Maybe we should sell the supply chain group since they are sooooo good!
