Wrong people being laid off once again, just like every single time before this. Absolutely shocking they would change absolutely nothing in an approach that has proven so "successful" in the past. We must have true geniuses running this company. /sarcasm

GAC seems to always layoff the good employees and keep the over paid worthless folks. Heck they even keep contractors that sit around doing nothing but watching movies on there phones, I have seen this first hand when I was there. It's almost as if they only want to keep the over paid do nothing types there, almost like they are trying to k–l the company off.
Hey "come back down to earth",
Spoken like a true brown-nosed, good ol' boy.
It’s true, gulfstream has lost its way. We’ve been sweeping things under the rug for so long that now when we bring people come into our facilities they can’t help but notice and ask “what’s under the rug?” We’ve become a rushed design, false image company.
That being said they did get rid of some people that should’ve been let go along time ago or not even hired. One example in ATW we had a guy come in with 17 years of Air Force experience. He came in as a T2. Come to find out he failed his A&P exams repeatedly and couldn’t read a dial caliper. He lasted longer than he should’ve and we lost some solid talent in part because of what this individual did to the team and managements inability to act. But Friday they finally did.
So yeah gulfstream is not a good, standup company anymore and they’ve made a lot of bad decisions but they did make a couple good ones too.
If someone has been around 20 years, they must have been doing something right. Otherwise, they would have been "weeded-out" by their peers if nothing else.
Wow... 97.36%! That sounds like we have a professional statistician amongst us.
I guarantee you 97.36% of the people who make these posts are now former disgruntled employees who think that the stream “owes” them a job. Been there 10/15 years, skating by under the radar for the latter half of their career. This company owes nothing to anyone. Again, you’re a number, and can always be replaced. When you get a job in aviation you accept the risk of layoffs. That’s it.
I’m on the floor in the Dallas service center, they did cut some slackers here and a bunch of managers, unfortunately they let the wrong manager go and kept the worst ones.
I can assure it wasn’t random. There were guidelines coming down from the top on where to cut. Then, it turned into a beauty pageant.
Nic Wirth, the layoffs just 6 months ago were mainly Engineering, and many were laid off this time too.
More Engineers should have been let go. My boss agrees that there are way too many “engineers” Why do the good workers get let go, but the freeloaders get to stay?
I mean chances are it’s random. It’s a mass lay-off. They’re not trimming fat. Hell I’ve heard people working 15yrs in the aervice center got laid off. Those same people were just riding the wave, skating by and not really contributing. So with the fat comes collateral.
