Thread regarding Fiserv Inc. layoffs

Is this true?

"Does Fiserv have 4000 contractors. I know for a fact all contract positions are eliminated effective tomorrow/ 4/30. My understanding is that there will be more layoff of full time staff every month."

I'm asking about contractors - what are the chances this is true?

@3tgl+14JAVztx Of course I’m disgruntled, I just got laid off. Do they really expect I’m going to continue to give 100% up until the last second of my last day?? can’t be worried about logging in at exactly 8am etc, I’ll be busy trying to find a job.

Here is a little helpful hint for any #FISVPROUD ladies and gentlemen...

Be very careful using Fiserv assets. Check to see if Sapience is installed on your machine by going to Start - Control Panel - Programs and Features - Sapience Updater. There is a lot of spyware on your machine, so understand every keystroke is monitored. Also synced to your badge swipes. If you start showing up late, it will be noted. That means you are 'disgruntled'. If you take too much time between badge swipe and first keystroke, it will be noted. Too few keystrokes per minute, it will be noted. (hint: 1 keystroke every 5 seconds to be a productive little bee).

Remember, mister P.C. (rhymes with Cedar Paddikia) is now a Fiserv executive. You might want to read the following article:

I have purposely avoided ever applying or working at first data because of Frank’s insane tactics, removing 401k’s, dropping benefits and most of all, famous for its layoffs. It is very sad that even though Fiserv purchased first data, it’s really frank who has single handedly ruined the Fiserv culture. It s—s and I’m hurt but I’m honestly better off getting as far from that sociopath as possible. Best of luck to those of you left just waiting for your pink slips. They’re coming at some point.

We absolutely heard 4k employees were let go today. Their end dates vary some in two weeks some in June. To be clear, over half were full time employees not what you think of as a contractor. We're all just numbers and this is 100% Frank. Acquiring first data was the first step to the end of a good company. I've been here almost a decade and am waiting to be told I'm let go. Very sad, uncertain, and horrible times.

I think that’s where you’re all confused. To fiserv everyone is a contractor. They feel they owe you nothing, just fill out the engagement survey correctly. The Tom drew Whitney crowd gets a kick out of firing long time associates. They likely were picked on a lot in high school and this is their revenge

Yes, the rumors are definitely true. No, its absolutely not just contractors. I am/was a full time US based employee with great reviews and respected by my peers. There is no loyalty at all. Purely a numbers game for the almighty shareholder. This is Frank B. 101, come into a company and start cutting off heads while he sits back in his fat mansion lighting cigars with 100 dollar bills.

I was laid off. Last day is 5/15, that's why you're not seeing huge deactivation numbers. So were two others on my team and at least one more I know of. I have also heard the 4000 number being thrown around. S—s. Never been laid off before, now what? Guess my kids just starve. Awesome.

@1tin+14JAVztx - If contractors are still working as of 5/1, then the statement, "I know for a fact all contract positions are eliminated effective tomorrow/ 4/30" is false. If all contractor positions will eventually be eliminated, that's different. The OP did not say that.

@1tin+14JAVztx Specifically what is false? That all contract positions are being eliminated? Thats true. There are a few contractors sill there but thats only to give them time to transition the work.

I worked with a contractor today. So it was false, because at least one contractor is still working. I also know of one employee who is being laid off so the RIF is not contractor only. (They were notified ahead of time so they will be gone in two weeks.) Maybe it is because the person was a manager that they were not walked out of the door immediatly (as is the custom).

It’s more like 5800 CWRs and very many on shore They snuck in from FD not OFS

Contract worker who left late in 2019 and my understanding without time line is that all contracts would not be renewed at a future date, so not surprised. Always on the chopping block so good luck to all who are now out of paycheck - take time, get head together and begin looking.

Well not sure of 4000 but there ARE RIF's in progress throughout the company today and confirm that contracts have been cancelled early. Scary times...

I haven't seen 4k account disables, which happens immediately after the person is notified... unless they're doing it at COB in NA today. I would think that a large percentage of the CWRs are offshore and would have gotten their notice already.

I work for one of the top IT vendors that Fiserv (and previously FD) uses. My understanding is that all of our engagements were cancelled early/non renewed effective April 30th. My engagement would have been longer term but that was pulled as well.

OFD was 75% low-cost contractors. A lot of those contractors were recently converted into full time employees to reduce the contractor ratio. This is possibly the source of the rumor.
