Based on the communication and lack of from Estero the end is near. Little or nothing is being done to save the company instead the leaders are preparing for the most economically positive exodus. For those of us still around the joy of not being laid off and being one of the "select and elite" employees asked to stay feelings are now changing to reality that we are on a sinking ship and the captain is already in the life boat. VP's are cleaning up in preparation to leave. Even the RVP's who were soldiers and execute blindly without any questions are reeling and looking for a way out. For me retirement is near so I won't be in the rat race to find a new job. Hopefully it all ends quickly and peacefully without any major casualties. Hertz was a great company. The leaders we lost the last few years were great ones. Ones I learned so much from. They I am eternally greatfulll and will miss,. For the current team I am sure you will land on your feet and find a new company to ruin.

I only have 6 years in my job which I took as a "retirement" job after a long career in another industry. I am currently on furlough and am praying the end comes soon so I can get on with my real goal of ending my career. I truly feel sorry for those that have to go out and find a job in this madness we call an economy
Call JD Power get a refund, perhaps that can save a few jobs..Did anyone notice Avis won JD Power for Touch-less and Tech..we all could be doing with that award now..
This crisis is HUGE...
So they have to keep status quo in Europe? The government support doesn’t last forever, maybe for the next 2 months.
Re European operations, this really is the elephant in the room... and something that the so-called experts who comment on the stock price have failed to grasp at all...
Want to know why they have furloughed and NOT laid off anyone in Europe?
Simple... they don’t have the money to do it.
European employment law protects the employee to such an extent that Hertz has no choice but to grab the various governmental grants/support on offer (bailouts) to protect cash flow and wait until formal bankruptcy.
If they lay-off pre-bankruptcy then the settlements alone would k–l the company in one blow.
And here’s the real Catch-22... if they fire enough people to support the future size/state of the business post COVID-19, then that bankrupts then too.
Bad news for those European employees who think that by being furloughed in a government scheme makes them safe.
Basically you’re all fecked, mate.
What will happen to European/Australian operations if Hertz files Chapter 11?
if you didn’t get “select elite” was ironic:
- you regularly shouted “huge” back at pstone
- you thought “win the summer” was a great idea
- you believed Big4 savings were actual money
- “wear your colors” was the best day of your life
- you turned up to a „deep dive“ in full scuba gear
- touching jdpowers trophy changed your life
for bad leadership to thrive, you need just a little bit of ignorance and indifference in the levels below. we had plenty of both.
I was not serious about being “select and elite” thus the use of “ “. I am just as disgusted in the leadership for allowing us to lose so many valuable team members. Kathy and crew are saving their own butts now.
Higher title first ..then Seniority
Leave the person alone. Let them live! They put in their time.
You were not “select and elite”, you had more seniority, that is all.
