Sick and tired of seeing these emails from the higher ups in Oxy management calling us family. Its utter BS and incredibly belittling. I hope they read these, see these or are told about what is said in these threads here. We despise all of Oxy's management for their inadequacies, lack of transparency, inability to lead, two faced-ness and bold faced lies. It is beyond clear to all of us how little they actually care for their "family". Its all a damn show for shareholders and dear old Uncle Warren and Uncle Ichan now. Which let's be honest now, we know they dont give two s@%/$ about us at all.

Someone mentioned where is Altura when you need them? I definitely agree those were the good ol days.
Micromanaging isn't fun unless there is a matrix management structure behind it. You need to report you progress minutely to several higher ups across various Buisness units. Otherwise you are useless. They need this feedback so they can fiddle with their email and work on their Excel spreadsheets. Also you need to be ready to schedule instantaneous online meetings. There is no time for "bio" breaks, just use an empty gatoraid bottle, hopefull a liter or larger. For the females in the group it's ok to have a funnel, to assist. Wipe's are optional.

You are right in leaving if you don't like it, but that is not how society works these days. A company can't require people to actually work. A company needs to give bonuses, gyms, health care, mechanical golf, free coffee, medical and dental insurance, educational assistance, daycare assistance, Midland uplift because Midland is in Africa, and so on and so on. All these folks that complain probably don't treat their maids and yard guys the same as they expect to be treated. We have all become very soft people and do not have any strength compared to what our parents and grandparents went through. Everyone gets mad when anyone says it, but we are all a bunch of wimps, and our kids are going to be worse than us. By the time we get old our kids and grandchildren will just put us aside and we will just be a bunch of lonely old folks. Thing is we did it to ourselves by being so soft.
If you don't like it, then leave, Texas is a 'right-to-work' state ...

They probably screen the scathing or derogatory stuff so as not to hurt feelings but some of what is here gets to eyeballs on 31. HR obviously watches and shares amongst themselves too and likes to post pretending to be real employees.
Where's Altura when you need them? Now that was a great place to work, but sadly only exists as a foggy memory now.

The Oxy-APC merger was kind of like the joining of the Brady Bunch, but 6 months in to it the Dad developed a drinking habit and the Mom started sleeping with the neighbor. None of the kids are happy and there’s no money to have anything nice. That’s our Oxy family.
